2025-2026 Roster

Why did Tad take the team to the other side of the planet to play a HS JV team in rec center gym?

Do you think the buffs would be better without this trip?

Also playing the Australian national team is not scrubs. Wondering what it will take to see the first positive post of the year?

Guessing for you it would take firing Tad.
Listen, I do not want Tad to get fired. I do not want Tad to quit. What I want is for Tad to change. I want Tad to go on the attack. Both internally and externally. As for the roster, it's growing on me. We still have too much dead weight, but some of the pieces are solid. Unfortunately, the ceiling for this team is about 15 wins and I'm just not comfortable with that for this program. Just like I wasn't comfortable with where the football program was at for many years. As others have said, I'd like to see how they do against the AUS Nat'l team, because I have no sense of what we have based on them playing what amounts to a high-level high school team in a rec center gym over the weekend (that's absolutely what it was).

I appreciate the elaboration. Just think sometimes your posts can become exhausting. The roster is set outside of maybe another international pick up that you won't like, while you can have critiques about the roster construction (Tad is very limited as we all know with NIL) I am proud they put a chunk of $$ forward for an accomplished power 5 pick up in Barrington Hargress that was the biggest obvious need and recruited some big time guards both Sanders and Holland were national recruits. Now that the roster is set lets move forward and root for the players that are here!

To think our roster would look significantly better then it currently does after last year and our budget I think is foolish. Again a part of the issue last year was the roster turn over year to year so I'd also rather have Tad invest in getting guys to return IE (Malone, Rancik, and Dak) over trying to start over as we know the importance of experience in Tad's system for his success. I remember you specifically posting how we would lose Rancik and Dak in the portal immediately after the season and guess what we didn't. We retained.

We also won 3 of our last 5 games- including putting up a fight against a team that lost the natty by 2 points. We won't lose 13 straight to start the conference.
I for one think we will surprise this year and it will be a fun ride. Some bad losses some surprising wins. To say our team will max out at 15 wins is crazy.

I for one am stoked to see Dak and Rancik's growth and if they can be consistent offensive threats. We should be excited Rancik scored 25 regardless of the competition and hit 3 threes. That's a great sign for this years team. I am really excited to see this freshman class and the fact the Holland contributed more than people were expecting is an amazing sign. I'm stoked to see Dak's highlight dunks, blocks and otherwordly plays. Again we will get more clues during the Boomer matchup but lets all enjoy the ride knowing it's not going to be perfect but we've got a fun team to look forward to.

Looks like we got updated measurements YOY. Seems like everyone grew an inch or two which seems suspect (except walk on Nick Randall shrunk two inches). Hope the weights are accurate. Crazy we have three 7 footers listed on the roster and a 6'll" inch player and 6'10 and people are worried about our size. Yes I get the experience on front line argument but that's different. I think we will have more of a gap on defending the big 3 or small 4 or will need Sebastian or BD to slide there.

A few highlights:

BD: Up from 6'11 185 to 7' 203 so up an inch and 18 pounds
Sebastian Rancik- Up from 6'9 210 to 6'11 220- up 2 inches and 10 pounds
Andrew Crawford- Up from 6'6 180 to 6'8 190- 2 inches and 10 pounds
Tacko Ifaola- 7' 245- from videos dude looks built love the energy
Leonardo Van Elswyk- 7'1 245
Josiah Sanders - 6' 5 210- looks built from videos
Nick Randall- 6'8 185 to 6'6 195

Also- we got intro's to the newbies! Love the freshman classes energy, all seem like great kids too. Tacko and Josiah are so fun and look college ready body wise today and love Barrington already will be that leader.

You’re not wrong. I’m very worried about the defense
The only good thing about that is that if given the choice of a Tad coached team being naturally talented at offense and needing to improve over the season on defense or vice versa, I'm definitely going with the squad that needs to improve on D. I have faith in him being able to raise the D level over a season. I have zero faith on the offense improving through the year.

It does appear these newcomers have a natural affinity to score / attack, which is always nice to see on a Tad team.
I never doubt that Tad will get a team to defend and rebound. What determines season success is almost always whether he's got enough firepower and good ball security.
