One of the downsides of the NIL and B1G extra cash is that other programs like Indiana are now in a position to poach players who almost always used to go to Wisconsin. Beefy upper midwestern dudes now have many other lucrative options than Wisky.

Maybe even a negotiated buyout so that it's "mutual" and then he moves into an Ambassador role like Bob Stoops did. This isn't a bridge that anyone involved should want to see burned. As a CU fan, I saw this type of thing get handled the wrong way when Bohn fired GB and it divided the boosters & program alums for years.

I don't think he's going to have any connection to OSU after he gets fired. Thamel basically said on Saturday that its inevitable, and I saw John Kurtz do an interview with some OSU podcaster after they got obliterated in Eugene. The guy said that there was a lot of pressure for OSU to dump Gundy after last year, and Chad Weiberg (their AD) stuck his neck out for him. No getting around the pay cut he had to take and the new coordinators, but I'd be surprised if he's still coaching November 1.....and he won't have any connection with OSU after this year.

Feel like silly season starts right around Halloween with the portal-that's when we'll see moves at places like Florida, Wisconsin, and I still think Arkansas is going to open.
