'21 OR QB Drew Carter (SIGNED to COLORADO)

How does that work? If you sign one intent with one sport, does it carry over to the other as well? Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez did it.

The scholarship would be assigned to the football team, which in this case is probably a good thing. The hoops team would get a solid player without losing a scholarship.

NCAA rules say that if a guy plays any two sports if one of them is football and he appears in one game he counts against the football scholarship limit. For basketball purposes he is looked at as a walk-on except that he may get some benefits a scholarship player gets that a walk-on doesn't.

Any two sports including basketball but not including football appear in one game and he counts against the basketball scholarship limit.

The only other sport that has this kind of rule determining that a player on scholarship who appears in a game counts against it is hockey.

In the other sports a participant can be counted as a half for example a guy could be a half swimmer and half track athlete.

Track and cross country are counted together IIRC so if you have a bunch of XC runners on scholarship you can have fewer track and field guys.

Looks like he has not decided if he wants to go full time Basketball or not. Really really good Basketball player. If he chooses Football, Basketball will have to be part time, maybe a few minutes to start the season then more playing time towards the end of the season

They never played FB in college. All BB. They were just athletic enough that people saw something in them.
My mistake, I thought they had a little time with both. Whoever saw something in them knew what the hell they were looking at, they are two of the best to play that position. Hopefully, young Mr. Carter sees some success similar to that. Tall task, I know.

I just watched his film. This is a pretty dang good get! Kid makes reads, throws off platform, and has decent arm strength. Not a dual threat, but not afraid to run. I think this kid is a significant up grade over Montez IHHO. Viva Carter!!

Welcome to the BNG!
