Boy I’d disagree pretty vehemently he’d easily be wr1. Haven’t seen much at usc that shows he’d even be a difference maker. Obv we’d want him due to the pedigreeShould be the priority at WR, IMO. He’s not the elite prospect he was coming out of HS, but he can definitely play and would easily be WR1 here
He’s similar to Brendan Rice in terms of production at SC. Was never able to crack the WR1-3 positions, but our WR position is lacking high end talent and experience so I think he would easily be WR1 at this moment. Maybe one of the freshman or Weaver or Hunter is that guy, but they’ve struck out on the transfer WRs to this point and Ford has proven he can playBoy I’d disagree pretty vehemently he’d easily be wr1. Proven what? Rice had as many yards this year as ford does in his career. Fords had multiple knee injuries. Only 617 yds and 4 tds in two years. I hope you’re right and I’d gladly take him. He’s similar to Brendan Rice in terms of production at SC. Most of that from Rice was in the Bowl game where SC’s top WRs didn’t play. His regular season stats were pretty much the same as Ford’s.Proven what? That’s what Stetson Bennett did. Started at Georgia. Went to jones county Junior college. Then back to Georgia. How long before a guy transfers out of a school for a year or two, then transfers back?
Disagree that we’re not in a good spot. We’re set to have one of the best WR corps, in terms of depth, in the PAC. Where we’re lacking is the elite threat WR that changes games on his own. Most of that from Rice was in the Bowl game where SC’s top WRs didn’t play. Maybe you’re right about him, but he’s a talented player who has dealt with injuries and got buried on the depth chart because of it. CU just isn’t on a good spot at WR unless they can land Weaver and a couple others
Great depth with some talented freshman, but we don’t have a great starting 3-4. This program could use Brendan Rice in a big wayDisagree that we’re not in a good spot. I don’t think you can definitively say we don’t have an elite wr threat. Def no sure thing but Hopkins and miller both have that ability.Disagree that we’re not in a good spot. A healthy Jordan Tyson is better than Rice. Rice had one decent game in an otherwise very forgettable season at USC.Great depth with some talented freshman, but we don’t have a great starting 3-4. This program could use Brendan Rice in a big way
As I said initially when Rice transferred, he was going into a situation where he wasn’t going to be any better than WR4 in that offense, due to the talent that was brought in, and that offense basically showcases 1-2 guys.A healthy Jordan Tyson is better than Rice. I think you hit on a key point that others seem to be ignoring. Everybody around here is basically putting Tyson down as W1/W2 in Sharpie marker when we'll be very lucky if he plays by October. And who knows at what level he'll be when he comes back. Frankly, we could use at least 3 more receivers. As I said initially when Rice transferred, he was going into a situation where he wasn’t going to be any better than WR4 in that offense, due to the talent that was brought in, and that offense basically showcases 1-2 guys.
I’ve been leading the Tyson hype train from the day he committed, so I agree that he is a high caliber player who can develop into an elite player… when healthy. He isn’t going to participate in anything this offseason and probably won’t play in the first part of the 2023 season, so when evaluating the WR position, that has to be considered.
End of the day, this is about Kyle Ford, who is a very talented and physically imposing WR that hasn’t been consistent enough among very talented players to rise to the top. Assuming he’s healthy and hungry, I think he would represent a great addition for CU
Not even close. Rice will be playing on Sundays...I can guarantee you that. Healthy or not, Tyson hasn't shown anywhere near what Rice has in regards to ability plus having the size. I'd put rice several levels above Tyson.A healthy Jordan Tyson is better than Rice. Rice had one decent game in an otherwise very forgettable season at USC.

Jordyn Tyson was 24th in yards per route run. That's ahead of guys like Jordan Addison, Tory Horton, and Marvin Mims to name a few. If Tyson can recover reasonably well I think he plays in the leagueYou're kidding right?
Tyson showed far more as a true freshman than Rice did during his career at CU:
Tyson in 9 games - 22 rec for 470 yds with 4 td's (long of 81)
Rice's career stats at CU (16 games) - 27 receptions for 419 yards and 5 TD's (long 62)
If anything, Tyson has shown significantly more promise
Rice is decent but, in my opinion, quite overrated by Colorado fans due to his name alone. He had the highest percentage of drops out of all USC WR's last year and really only shined in one game all year.
They graduated early. The article mentions a number of 1st year players will ne enrolling early, in the Spring semester. No mention that they graduated HS already. Is this a change in our admission policy - a 'bridge' program?
Jaden Milliner-Jones joining Buffaloes this spring, following signing day flip
On Dec. 21, the first day of the early signing period for the 2023 class, Jaden Milliner-Jones and his family showed up to DeSoto High School's ceremony hiding their Colorado clothing...247sports.com
You ever heard that even on bad teams...someone has to put up numbers? Tyson was a niceish player for 2022 Colorado. You're kidding right?
