22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

Grew up a buff fan but went to Tech due to it being an instate school and a lot cheaper.

Coach McGuire at Tech is the real deal for recruiting. He was one of the first hires by Rhule and one of the major guys Aranda kept at Baylor due to his Texas ties. Was a high school coach for years before moving to the college rank and just like Traylor at UTSA has a lot of love from Texas HS coaches which helps in finding talents.

That being said Tech has an NIL program which pays each athlete on the team $25k, but that is more of a crowd funded NIL and not a major boosters
Yeah, and $25k in Lubbock is equivalent to $100k in Boulder.

I

was mainly going off a pedigree. Smith was a low 80’s prospect with no P5 offers if i remember right.
Fair enough. But the low rating was because he's so raw and didn't even play TE in HS to the point where he had to be taught a 3-point stance at CU. He's got playmaker potential though

Wow. Another highly rated receiver? I think MLC and Tyson might start looking around with all these guys coming in. I thought they’d be great contributors with a QB who can actually get them the ball, but maybe Coach Prime feels differently. 🤷🏽‍♂️
