'23 TNFR S Shilo Sanders (Committed to COLORADO)

Tonight Show Smile GIF by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

After watching the Coach Prime series about Shilo's injury, he deserves a crap ton of credit for even getting back at all from that injury.
Props to him for being a tough kid and a fast healer. It could have affected his season mentally due to having to use that arm to try and tackle

Shilo speed is good for a safety. It's his acceleration that's below average for position. Him and Shedeur both lack acceleration for position. Shedeur lacks it in general. The one thing they didn't get from their dad or Bucky. I think both Shedeur and Shilo will surprise people with their 40 speed. I still believe 198 Shedeur was a legit 4.62. Right now at 208, 4.71 which is still impressive for him.

We all hope that Shilo has a great week at the senior bowl and runs a fast 40. It’ll help his draft stock immensely. A 4.52 would be excellent.

There are some veteran safeties in the NFL that aren't blazing fast. Don't know if that applies to Shilo though because those guys are playing on their knowledge of the game, anticipation, and fast reactions. These aren't necessarily Shilo strengths.

I've seen him rated as a late round pick, 6th or 7th. He may be better off not getting drafted. His dad's connections will get him into somebody's camp and not being drafted may let them pick the best situation for him.

He's going to have to be an absolute demon on special teams though because I don't see him having a long career strictly as a DB.

I hope he hits that so that his stock goes up. But you can’t seriously watch this and tell me he’s a 4.5 guy?

I think this confirms my suspicions he will be over on the 4.65. I wonder between the sanders boys who wins the Race. I also wonder if Hunter runs under a 4.4. He is a freak athlete, but I don't know if we ever determined he has absolute top end speed.

I hate having to do this to ya'll but I track these things and I hate having to explain speed.

This is Julio Jones 4.39 who's noted to usually max out range at 20.8 track down Kwon Alexander running a 4.55 max noted to top out at 19.0

Kwon Alexander 40 time

This is Julio ultimate max at 21.04

He did top that once again in 2018

Tory Horton has insane speed. Shilo got hawked and is also fast. If Shilo ran a 4.6, he would have gotten hawked much sooner than after crossing the goal line.

I don't believe Horton gets the love as a pro prospect as he should. He's a special talent. One of the few that could be a star in the NFL.

Regardless of speed, he cheeks
He doesn't suck. He's what you want from a SS in today's two safety or one single safety high coverage. Would I love him in 2004, hell no, but in 2025, I like him. Especially with consideration to your average SS. Now, is he ever going to live up to the Sanders name billing, no. Over the last two years, with the exception of the KSU game, he's generally giving you a good PFF grade of around 76. Plays a modern role and that's hard to find.

I like him as a NFL prospect a lot more than Cam just because Cam role is hard to play in the NFL. Budda Baker does it but he's elite at it. Cam is just solid. That's a difficult role to play in the NFL. Maybe he can, he's a better player than Shilo is but that's a difficult role to play as a FS who can be a nickel when needed while stopping the run and having so much space to monitor. The athleticism and mentality is there for sure with Cam. I am just not sure on the ability for the next level. At the end of the day with both players, we are talking about Day 3 at the earliest 5th but most likely 6th or 7th round. For Cam, moreso 7th and UDFA.
