#9 CU vs #22 Utah - 11/26 @ 5:30 PM on FOX - Pregame thread

It's on AFN Prime (Atlantic). We can sleep when we're dead.
Oh, believe me, I've got the schedule printed out. The problem is that we only get 3 AFN channels, one is news, and the other 2 rotate trough all the different AFN channels (Prime, Spectrum, sports, etc). Usually after the 3:30 EST game, they switch it to some other bull****...usually some sort of NFL Fantasy League draft shows

I'd tell you about the days of wooden ships and iron men, when the only sports related info we got on the ship was a 2 page Sports Summary that showed up in message traffic once per day. No AFN. No email. No internet. And the only reason we tolerated aviators was when the Desert Duck would bring us a fresh USA Today. But I'll just shut up and enjoy my 9 channels of AFN.

I have to wait ALL DAY Saturday...go to sleep (missing a ton of games), wake up at 0330 Sunday morning...MAYBE AFN will have it, if not, MAYBE the internet will work. Then try to go back to sleep to wake up at 0845 for 12 hours of "working". VOMIT!!!
I was referring to the post I quoted, not the game. Your hot what?!

Hopefully the coaches learned from the Tek MCKINLEY onslaught from the ucla game. If we don't give the OL help with Dimick it could be a long day

Something to watch

This is my main matchup to watch. Our O line vs their D line. Of course everything hinges on the success of the O and D lines. Can our O line control the LOS and get Lindsay going? It will be tough against arguably Utah's strongest positional group.

Teams have had success attacking the edges of the the Ute's D line so I think we see a lot of jet sweeps and sweep action from our O to keep them honest.

Can't wait! Shoulder to shoulder!

Defending the QB power requires the LBs and safeties being able to come up and support quickly.

Hitting some slants over the middle and passes down the field will soften that up.

Or vice versa - run QB power early and hit the passes later on. Just don't get Sefo hurt.

I would really like them to implement the Tebow jump pass. They run Sefo so much (20 times/game) that they need a play to have him take a step forward and dump it to the TE in the low hole.

Wow, they would only give us a 1 page sports summary... Damn sailors. Once again proving why I love the ****ing Navy... because the Navy loves ****ing me!

:p

Related to this, is today the day we bust out something with Bisharat in the game other than a Sefo run? Every time Beau has been in the game for the last month it's been a Sefo run.

Army brat and son of Sooners here. I spent lots of nights watching OU bowl games with drunken Army men on small tv's with fuzzy rabbit ear antennas well past my bedtime.

Learned a lot of new words in those late hours

That's because most Marines are challenged by reading anything more than 1 page, unless it has pictures of guns.

I haven't seen anything on Sefo's injury last week, and MM wouldn't say anything if there were any concerns. . he limped to the locker room w/ a hip injury and, presumably, they shot him up so he could return ASAP. Hips, like backs, can be rock-solid, until they're injured for the 1st time. Sefo would play with major pain though.

Utah has nothing to really 'gain' today, other than a win. Their coach is a tough guy and how fired up he gets his team, will be a key. Buffs, on Senior Day, with their history leading up to today, have to avoid being too high. This should be totally great.

Couple of really cool plays that we could utilize showed up in the Memphis v Houston Game.
One play was our version of that sideways toss play to Lindsay, but they ran it once for real, then they faked the toss and had a guy wide open down the sideline once everybody bit the run. If there is one thing that Sefo can do better is ball faking. If you set up a play with an aggressive Defensive line by running it one way and then faking it another, big things can happen!
I agree that Sefo runs too much, but I feel that he is likely calling those checks on his own and it is not completely the coaches making everyone of those calls. Sometimes I think he feels he needs to do everything and that mindset could hurt us.
With all the talent on the field, I would love to see some creativity today, including fly sweeps with Shay Fields, and possibly even something to get the tight ends a catch, since we have not thrown any passes to the TE's it should be pretty well set up by now.
Go Buffs, super hyped

Linebacker speed and tackling by the ends have been issues for Utah. You may get both of your wishes of that continues today!
