Asshole NU Fans In My Section

:nods: yep, there were a few assholes.

there were also some fans who got it done right. the assholes had to leave, as they were sitting in someone else's seats. :smile2:

That's rediculous! I think Bohn and Hawkins have set the tone (precedence). IMO, having gone to college in the south- and marrying a girl from LSU, that our fanbase is actually pretty good. Some of these fans in the Big 12, don't understand what true hatred and poor (homer) fans are all about. Should try a game in the SEC ... as an opposing fan on Sat. night in Baton Rouge ... it's like running the Gauntlet.

Not all of us are stupid! I would have probably been sitting down since you guys were ahead by 16 points anyways. If everyone around me was/is sitting down then I would be sitting down as well. Every fan base has a$$holes and it sounds like these guys are in that category.

Who cares how they acted, I don't, I relish the win, relish the bowl game chance, and relish the direction where we are headed.

NU fans are obnoxious. Did you see the guy sitting across the aisle and a little down from me? He stood up and crossed his arms for blackshirts everytime NU made a play on defense. People started telling him to sit down. Well I started mocking him by doing the arm cross everytime CU made a play on the fuskers. There were some things that got my blood boiling in that game more than usual.

There's no need to curse at Husker fans. Ribbing each other is fine and it's great you are a fan. But there is a line.

One of the best times I had last year was tailgating with some ISU fans we met on the old business field. We played some ladder golf, talked football and went on to the enjoy the game. I saw them as I was leaving the stadium and there was some drunk moron screaming at them "ISU sucks, blah, blah, blah." I waited until he left and I went up and talked to them and apologized for such ****ty behavior. We were 2-10 last year, the same as they were, and he was saying how bad they were? WTF? Even if we were won an undisputed mNC I still would have have done the same. If you treat people with respect then you will be given it, well the majority of the time, back.

Next year when you are a student and one day when you become an alum you'll recognize that in some small part you represent the university. I admit I haven't been the best fan all the time, but now I appreciate what it means to travel for your team and to cheer them on, not to necessarily root against the other team. You can love your team and still hate another team, but leave it to the players on the field to do their job.

That doesn't mean I like the corn in some small way though. It's still a rivalry.

Great post. I agree with you 100%. We have some dipchit fans as well. I am a class of 94 alum now living in Texas. I go to every game that the Huskers play at down here and have met a lot of different fans. I too have witnessed some of our dumb ass fans screaming **** to the other team. I also have apologized for their behavior. Should I have? No, but I felt it was the right thing to do. College football games are great but if I want to hear the F bomb dropped every 2 minutes, I will go and rent a Andrew Dice Clay video. Again, great post there NMBuff!

Very good post! I sat sat in the font row in section 120 and kept my mouth shut the whole game except for cheering for my skers. I was verbally assaulted many times and thought it was way uncalled for. There was also a few nice gentlemen who apologized and thanked me for coming showing true class.:thumbsup:
 
I wish this thread would just dissappear, let them bitch about us, who gives a crap about what hypocrites they have. All that crap about greatest fans has gone out the door with the death threat on Cos. Let's just concentrate on the remaining task at hand and that is beating whatever Big Joke Conference(Big 10) we get thrown in front of us.
 
I"m sorry guys. I love CU and hate Nebraska, but I have to say, NU fans are nicer than CU fans - in general. They also know more about their team and are more loyal - in general. By "in general", I mean that if you made a bell curve with "classiness" of fans on the x-axis, their median would be slightly higher than CU's...yeah...I'm sort of a nerd...

Anyways, I know there's lots of asshole NU fans, but we're just as bad. I will always remember two years ago, seeing a girl in red being escorted out of the student section crying her eyes out while holding her nose/cheek. CU fans were booing her and talking **** rather aggressively. It was an injured girl! This was the same game that we were throwing stuff onto the field and hitting our own players with some of the ****. Damn...I've been to too many CU games where there have been complete assholes within our ranks. Not to mention how fickle and dumb our fans can be...The people on this board all seem to have their heads on right, but come on, you've all gone to games - don't you think our fans need to improve themselves first?

I for one have never claimed to be or tell anyone the Huskers have the classiest fans in cfb. I consider my self to be an avid fan and don't talk smack besides a little rib jabbing in good fun. I have met some real asses in Husker gear, and I have told a many of them to f**k off!

I have never said CU doesn't have bad fans, I just want to puke when I hear NU is full of class. I have been going to CU/NU games in both Lincoln and Boulder for 20+ years and have seen a lot of BS from both sides fans. I have also seen good.

He's right! And I actually noticed quite a bit of class from CU fans this go around ... unlike 05'. And that's the one (the student section) that NU will take to the bank on us for years. It's like i've said ... Bohn and Hawkins have set precedence. I think aside from your traditional fan jarring, a lot of what we've seen (from our side of things) has simmered down.

05' was rediculous. And the media was running all over the place interviewing none other than Nebraska fans ... many of which were women, who were stating that CU is such a horrible institution, how could we let out students and fans act that way ... I would never send my kid to CU- blah, blah, blah. And everyone tuning in - could see that. It was a black mark on the program indeed, and now Nebraska wants to use that as their main piece in the argument. They did kind of "one up" us on that day. But they've had several issues as well.

Funny i live in omaha had the same thing but didnt reply to texts until clock was 0:00 then i texted back to each one "um SCOREBOARD BITCH":thumbsup:

i was in section 120 row 17....right on the north goaline. anyway, there were about 5-6 NU fans in their early to mid 20s in front of us. everytime NU would score in the 2nd qtr they would turn around and yell "IT'S OVER....IT'S F***ING OVER MOTHERF*****S!!!"

they left early in the 4th.....cuz at that point IT WAS OVER!

then, as the BUFFS were coming out for the start of the 2nd half (we were coming back from the bathrooms and were waiting for the players to come out so we could head back up) some guy behind us was yelling "YOU SUCK" and at the CU players and then "NICE SKIRT ***" to cabral. i turned around, expecting to see another young guy, but this NU fan had to have been in his 40s. ugh.

other than that, i saw nothing but good exchanges between CU and NU fans.

heck, we even talked briefly with and shook T.O.'s hand.
