Big noon kickoff in Boulder next week?

At what point does it over saturate? Don’t get me wrong, the attention is fun. Just wondering when it will start to annoy national audiences.

It’s like when Howard Stern started.

Half the audience tunes in because they love it and want the Buffs to succeed. The other half tunes in because they hate the Buffs and want to see them fail.

In the end, everyone’s watching.

I feel pretty certain that neither Big Noon Kickoff or GameDay has broadcast from the same campus 2 weeks in a row
Changing the game.

One thing we can be certain of with this happening for a home game against a winless G5 team that got destroyed 50-24 on its home field in its opener after they went going 3-9 last year... is that the audience tracker numbers have come in heavily for viewership, attentiveness, etc. whenever Coach Prime / CU stuff is aired.

If I'm being objective, "normal" would be that by far the story of last weekend was #11 Texas going into #3 Alabama and giving Saban his first double digit home loss since he's been there. It is absolutely fvcking gonzo that a #22 Colorado playing an 0-1 Nebraska was a bigger event that has been talked about more nationally.

If they tune in, what does it matter? Fox has the college football market cornered for the outraged.
Yep. And ESPN has to try to keep that from happening, so they try to go with more volume & interesting Coach Prime / CU content. As I've been saying, this monster feeds on its own momentum.

Then you've got the recruits seeing the fame/ brand building you get at CU along with (soon to come) NFL teams loving that CU players are battle tested of playing in the spotlight and performing under the pressure which comes with that. As long as we win, this monster just keeps growing.

The only negative I can think of with these noon ET kickoffs is that it makes it virtually impossible to get recruiting OVs in from them playing Friday night and being here for all the team activities prior to the game.

Much better for us on that front to be in that evening ET prime time slot.
This week’s game is 10pm eastern, no?

The number of people with the organizational management and media savvy of Prime who are also willing to coach & recruit is VERY limited.

Absolutely true.

However, the Athletic has a great article about Prime’s manager and how she is guiding Prime’s media presence. I’m sure her firm is looking at how they can leverage and replicate the success they have had with Prime with other athletes turned coaches.

In other words, they now have a blueprint.

Wait until Barstool comes to Boulder. Gameday and Big Noon crowds will look small in comparison.
