Bubble Watch - Saturday 3/12

I think there's a good shot at avoiding Dayton. Bubble teams tomorrow will be in the same position CU was today. They will play the top teams from their conferences such as Duke, UNC, they will lose, and they will drop down from where they moved up to with wins today.

Not sure which VaTech game you guys were watching. It's clear that there are zeros on the clock and the ball is still in his hand.

The team that I think gets screwed if it comes down to it is Tennessee. I really don't think an NCAA selection committee is going to do Pearl's program any favors considering the trouble he's in. And we are talking about a 19-14 team here.

Wow, just switched over to ESPN and Louisville came back to beat ND in OT. This game has absolutely no bubble implications but I'm not sure what this does to ND's potential status as a 1 seed. If Duke or UNC wins the ACC tournament and gets a #1 seed that would be an absolute joke.

I think you're right. Let's hope so. Didn't do themselves any favors today

Yup. We will definitely have UNC or Duke as a 1 seed now, just depends who wins their matchup in the finals. Sure, Clemson or VT could still advance, but the reffing in favor of Duke and UNC will make the CU/KSU game look like it was well-officated. ACC officiating in favor of the "big two" is painfully bad.

Duke will get a #1 if it wins the ACC tourney.

Ohio State, Kansas, Duke and Pittsburgh is my guess. I could see Texas sneaking in with a win against KU tomorrow.

Penn St won 36-33... the Big10 has reached a new low.

The sportscenter highlights of this game are a must watch.

"Taylor battle makes a 3 and thats a big 3-0 run for Penn state"
"Both of these teams should be banned from every tournament ever"

Last 4 in....plus memphis and alabama can still move up...

I think i'm gonna stop fretting over this **** and watching these conf. Tourney games....get drunk for st.paddy's day and just hope to god I see a buffalo come 5pm on sunday

Last 4 in but were one of the frecongerences whom final game will be played tomorrow. As others have said, Clemson will have to play UNC and Va Tech has to play Duke.

Oh and the FSU guy didn't get the ball off.

New AllBuffs word?

We've got a rooting interest in a lot of games today. Some for seeding. Some for avoiding getting screwed out of a tourney bid. CU's rooting interest is underlined.

Memphis vs UTEP
Kentucky vs Alabama
Clemson vs North Carolina
Michigan vs Ohio State
Virginia Tech vs Duke
Richmond vs Temple
Harvard vs Princeton (helps our resume)
Michigan State vs Penn State
Washington vs Arizona
Boise State vs Utah State

Well most of those teams should win but you never know

He does a snapshot, not a projection. A number of teams that moved ahead of us are likely to lose today and drop back.

It's still bull****. Gonna be an interesting day tomorrow. After the loss to ISU a few weeks ago I never thought we would have relevance on selection Sunday. This is awesome.

I think we get in unless there are some major upsets. UNC got the game handed to them yesterday by both Miami and the zebras, they had no business winning that game. If teams just hold serve, I think we are dancing. I never thought Id say that after losing to Iowa St. If you look at it tho, we should be a tourney lock. Blowing the Baylor, A&M, and a few other games hurt. This team should have 23 to 25 wins and there would be no doubt. Since we did lose them, credit to those guys for doing the next best thing. Made a good run in the Big 12 tourney and EARNED a spot.

64-62 UTEP.

Bastards get to play the conference tournament in their home gym. Bush league.

Memphis pulls it out.

Is UTEP an at-large bid? I don't know, but I can't believe the committee would like their resume better than ours. They lost a home game to flippin' Pacific. Biggest wins were a neutral site against Michigan and a home blowout of Memphis (avenged today). I just don't see how 25-9 (11-5) in a mediocre C-USA without any marquee wins and an RPI around 60 gets a team into the tourney.

so what's so wrong with Duke as a #1? I agree that last year they shouldn't have been, but this year, with so many teams losing, I think you have 6-7 teams that have a legitimate claim for a #1 seed. Yes, I do think Duke is #4-5 on that list.

And obviously I'm biased, but I really don't think the officiating in the ACC isn't that horrible. I've seen some calls definitely go against Duke. Do they have the advantage in Cameron, sure, but many teams have a home court officiating advantage. I know the vast majority of you will disagree strongly with these statements, but whatever...

Also, while I think CU should get in, I do not think we have such a better resume than other bubble teams. We have some quality wins, but what about bad losses? What about out-of-schedule? If we do not get in, the only people that should get pointed at are the players and coaches. The loss in Ames, and San Francisco hurt. It would've been a good game to have beaten Georgia. We had our chances, but simply put, we the Buffs played themselves into this position - both positively and negatively.

This is fun though...it has been seven years since we could talk about CU and the postseason. It'd be great for our seniors, especially Higgins in my mind, for them to close out their careers with an NCAA game...or gameS.
