LIVE! BYU Game thread. Official.

Thank you. Keep it to football like I originally told pennypacker to which I was called a “pussy” and a bitch” by the aforementioned. I request action from the mods. No politically charged comments, only football.
Bro I'm talking about you too... pushing buttons and antagonizing others doesn't help that ****....

This sh!t is tearing me up just like the rest of you. I’m coming at it a little differently, I guess. While this is a week to week league, I don’t see us as a team that can string wins together at this point. And not with our schedule.

I thought we played our best game tonight... We are are work in progress! We get the fumbled snap and we probably win. We did not get it, and 2 min drill throwing a pick... S*** happens

We have like 57 people on staff, I’m not sure what they do but someone should learn something about time management. Prime is starting give his critics a lot of ammunition, the flash stays bright for only so long. If he’s not feeling the heat, he should be.

Someone on the staff can do it, however, they do not have the ear of Deion. Vibes get you a long way, but the boring side ensures wins. When to take time outs, how to get players needed information, 4th down decisions, what tempo to play at etc. It is those things which are part of game management and competence in those areas is what the staff lacks most. Preparation also seems to be a problem. This is fixable if the right people have the loudest voices. However those voices seem buried or lacking. In my opinion largely due to preference for former players turned coaches. Freak athletes often are not the best choice to teach the needed skills for a player with a lower ceiling.

This team is very gifted. There are two things about this team that are preventing success:

1. Our offensive game plan remains baffling. We have it clicking in the 1Q and stopped working to get run the ball again. After they loaded the box, we needed to throw the ball over their head sooner so that they’d back off. All rhyme and reason left the scheme.

2. Some of our players are afraid of the moment. In these tough/tight games against solid opponents, you cannot make boneheaded mistakes.

This year’s team has more of the talent but less of the edge that last year’s team had.

Okay. Now that we got all of that out of the way.

Salter was disappointing tonight. We could have won that game. Shedeur would have won it. I can't say that JuJu would have. In fact, I'm confident he wouldn't have. I think we need to roll with Salter for a few more games. Throwing this to JuJu isn't good at this point, IMO.

That said, we played better than many people thought we would. Competing in this game isn't the end of the world. And it surely isn't an indictment on Prime. This was always going to be a year to reload. Unless we caught a unicorn with Salter, which we didn't.

Watching a Schumur offense makes people understandably angry.

Yeah actually I retire. Pleasure talking buffs with you lot, but it has gotten out of control and unwelcoming to all. Some great people and we all care about one thing. Remember seeing an advertisement on the quad for this board, and buffnik’s great twitter account which made me join. God bless and sko buffs.

I know we love to say, “The refs don’t cost us the game, but…”. BS. That phantom holding call cost us the game. Period.

I am glad Salter is being more decisive as a runner although he could make better decisions as a runner. I am glad he improved it in week 3 and 4. Sadly, he's a bad passer. He misses way too many reads and he starres down his WRs too much his processor is maddeningly slow. He plays QB like Shedeur haters think Shedeur plays like. Hard to win with someone with awful pocket awareness and a limited feel for the game

Well, but he also called out unnamed players and said the moment was too big for them. I have to think he was referring to his DB’s primarily. He says he was not upset but he was pissed.

Prime started sounding like Scott Frost blaming players
Prime talks about seeing things in practice, but that has ZERO to do with the sequence of play calls and it is up to the coaches to scheme, adjust, hide weaknesses to win games. 3 total targets to Omarion Miller and Sincere Brown (NFL quality receivers) criminal situational coaching. I just do not think Prime sees it or gets it, period

I liked your message, but I did call Salter "Shedeur" when he took the 20 yard sack. 🤷🤣

We were running the ball in the 2nd half hut the effectiveness went down as they adjusted. Our run blocking was bad throughout as usual.

Once they stop crashing the edges hard like they did to Shedeur, they had two spies for Salter legs, Salter looked like dog crap

The one thing that pisses me off is we got 4 legit starters on the OL with McGill, Zy, Hill, and Seaton and only Seaton is back next year. Johnson is too but I am questioning him as a starter. Sucks! We are also Losing Sincere too. Damnit!
