I thought we played our best game tonight... We are are work in progress! We get the fumbled snap and we probably win. We did not get it, and 2 min drill throwing a pick... S*** happens
So we’re back to “Almost” and “so close” and “we tried hard” now? Got it. Preparing myself for the flood of “It was always going to be a rebuilding year” posts.

This is ridiculous. He should say the P5 stage is too big for some of his coaching stuffs
I've been seeing many blast the coaching staff and from just this game. Liv had a really bad moment on 3rd down & 17 but that was it. The coaching this game strongly felt even meaning i didn't believe Prime and his staff was outcoached. I just don't believe we are good. Only 2 legit starters on defense and one of them has been struggling the last couple of weeks in DJ. Byard has arrived. The defense is loaded with rotational players. The LBs are terrible. I don't know how you coach just having a bad portal class and not replacing any of the starters you lost but Cam with Byard.

Offensively, Salter is very talented but he's not a good QB. He's a good football player but he's a below average QB. Pat made it easy for him, cut the field in half, called plays where he had open WRs and he missed them over and over and over again on 3rd downs.

I had we are going to waste this elite pass pro but Yoyo looks damn good, Chauncey getting a lot of love from the staff so replacing McGill will be our biggest challenge. After only having 1 legit starter on the OL, it feels good to have 4. Larry has improved weekly but I need more time before labeling him starter quality for this level of play.

The running backs are all good because Faulk is way better than Flea. 2023 is the biggest injustice having 3 Dock Walker preseason candidates plus Dylan (top recruit) and stinking it up running wise. Last year was awful as the room was bad. I know Atkins struggled yesterday and was replaced by Yoyo but he showed in previous games, he's a starter.

While the run blocking was better yesterday due to Yoyo, everyone knows we are running if Yoyo is in the game. We gotta mix it up. We also gotta do a much better job run blocking as we been saying all year.

Sincere is the only starter I see at WR. The rest are just way too inconsistent play to play as overall WRs. Jojo and O flash special qualities but man, they are still raw. Salt doing none of these guys service nonetheless. They are much better than the data, especially Brown.

talent evaluation is part of coach's job! CP genuinely believed we are a better team this year. With this level of talent?? Someone is lying to him

This isn't a good team playing good teams. We are fighting an uphill battle.

Solid offense with a below average passer who's a good football player with an average defense with depth but hardly any starters is only going to be so good.

We maybe 5-0 with Shedeur but with Salter, we are 2-3.

GT is very good
Delaware is slightly below average
Wyoming is below average
Houston and BYU are good.

Colorado is average. We were above average last year but it's easier to win when you have the best QB in America and the Heisman who is the most decorated player in CF history last year. Helps we had 7 starters on defense even if we only had 6 of them on offense last year even if depth wise, we are way better now.

Prime started sounding like Scott Frost blaming players
Prime talks about seeing things in practice, but that has ZERO to do with the sequence of play calls and it is up to the coaches to scheme, adjust, hide weaknesses to win games. 3 total targets to Omarion Miller and Sincere Brown (NFL quality receivers) criminal situational coaching. I just do not think Prime sees it or gets it, period
I don’t think so either, but it’s tough to have to hold a press conference after a loss. Forced to speak when the processing hasn’t started yet.

Sports and politics. Both are overblown in today’s era.

I think we are below average. What’s our current record?

I dont even think they missed on talent with these guys. You can watch Hughes and French previous tape and see they got talent. You even see it here. It's a consistency that's needed and that's hard to see on film. NHG didn't seem consistent at Charlotte but he was consistent as hell here. Preston Hodge had elite consistency at Liberty but it's been so so here. It's a lot easier to do things at lower levels and it's also easier play well when you got someone like Travis Hunter on the field. Great players make life easier for others. No shock our pass pro is elite with Jordan Seaton.

I think they just didn't have the money needed and Prime biggest miss was not heavily recruiting 2023 HS class. Them hidden gems could be in bad situations and he could have grabbed them and he would have had the homework for them like Fritz had at Houston

Call it bad coaching, “not ready for the moment”, bad talent evaluation, poor attitude/prep, inconsistency, or whatever you want….

Is it not Prime (who makes top 10 money) and his coaches (who make millions) who are responsible for all of that?

It’s year 3 and we look like ass. No participation trophies, moral victories, or “bbbbut they’re trying their best”. Coaches gotta do better or get swapped

It's weird that MLB play has been hot garbage 2/3 years with Hart being solely in charge those 2 years. He needs to go!

But ultimately this is an offense problem. Plenty of talent everywhere but we have a terrible play caller.

Un ****ing believable. That was winnable.
It's actually becoming believable, we cut our own dick and balls off every week. Sew them back on, then do it again. I said in another thread Salter should finish out the year, not anymore. Dude doesn't have situational awareness and the coaches don't trust him enough to air it out at times. I mean, when did Sincere Brown get his first target? I was so pissed, I forgot.

Im confused. So you are saying it's coaching problem because the talent is there?

I’m sorry, it’s not why we lost, but it always felt like we were singled out by Big 12 refs the first time around, we were definitely singled out by PAC 12 refs, and we’re being singled out again.

Why do we always get screwed by the refs? What is it about CU that brings this on, because I really believe it is a thing, and it has been since 1996.
Idk, the Rocky Mountains and a beautiful state?

I see the same style of mind boggling mistakes the Broncos make. Ironically, there was also a fair amount of talk about a great season for them, too.

Shurmur needs to go.

I'm optimistic that we found something in the Drelon wildcat, hoping this opens up a new dimension to our offense that the coaches lean into more.

Got to play more Zone Defense.

The dichotomy after Shedeur and Travis has left quite an adjustment shift on both sides of the ball.

And Salter cannot process, ugggghhhhhh.

I stop defending Hart in week 1. Two out of three years with the weakest room on the team is fireable in 99% of situations in America. We spend less at RB and TE then LB. You can't have overly the worst room. You just can't. He did good at Jackson but so did Brewster.

We were running the ball in the 2nd half hut the effectiveness went down as they adjusted. Our run blocking was bad throughout as usual.

Once they stop crashing the edges hard like they did to Shedeur, they had two spies for Salter legs, Salter looked like dog crap
We were not. Attempts were way down.

This is where scheme became the issue. We needed to start throwing the ball over their heads to deflate the box. Throwing to an un/lightly blocked tunnel/bubble was not the answer. The TD drive was the only time we did that.

I agree that KSalt made mistakes but the timing of our playcalling was also basura.

No, its still a scouting miss. At the end of the day, proven sound players cost money and we weren't in the mix for any of them at LB with the portal. We missed on most portal guys on defense but Oatis and Byard. Everyone else seemed rotational and still are. French and Hughes didn't look like proven starters. Nor did Bentley or NHG but they were, these guys aren't

You can't look at attempts when we had a lot of 3 and outs. That limits attempts and BYU wasn't really allowing runs in the 2nd half and our runs weren't really going anywhere.

The last part is on Salt like it was on Staub. They weren't comfortable taking deep shots. Didn't trust their accuracy against these corners. Sucks but our vet QBs aren't good.

Moving 6 to the RB room was good coaching. I liked the way Bama used 5 last night. Hope same for Miller going forward.

currently, our Buffs are a mid- team at best playing in a mid- conference and are losing winnable games.

we see flashes. if the key players stick, we will improve. we are gonna need some serious evaluation of coaches, personnel, and scheme.

we are top quadrant in raw talent and losing like a 3rd quadrant team in this conference.

gotta win the close conference games if you are gonna be someone in CFB.

This team is very gifted. There are two things about this team that are preventing success:

1. Our offensive game plan remains baffling. We have it clicking in the 1Q and stopped working to get run the ball again. After they loaded the box, we needed to throw the ball over their head sooner so that they’d back off. All rhyme and reason left the scheme.

2. Some of our players are afraid of the moment. In these tough/tight games against solid opponents, you cannot make boneheaded mistakes.

This year’s team has more of the talent but less of the edge that last year’s team had.
I think a big part of the problem is that when you go so heavy on transfers it's harder to develop leadership. With an offseason which Prime wasn't able to have much presence or participation, the problem was exacerbated.

BYU adjusted after the first two TD’s. They did a great job all game. I don’t know how someone can watch that game and come away with anything different. CU needed to take shots down the field after that happened. Either Salter simply can’t do it or coaching is bad. It’s probably a little of both

Should tell us a lot about Livingston and Shurmur
