Can you win consistently in Boulder?

One theme seems to be pretty consistent throughout this thread ... we have most of the things in place to be consistently successful (7-9 wins/year, with occasional 10+), but the one thing that will get us there is the "right" coaching staff.

And therein lies the rub ... given our recent history (basically languishing near the bottom of P5 teams except 1 year), it will be very difficult to attract that "right" coach. We aren't getting a Chris Peterson-level guy to come here (or IMO Holgerson-level either). We're gonna have to get a little bit lucky. RG is most likely going to have to find a "diamond in the rough" type guy with an unproven track record of running a program at this level ... and frankly any coordinator at UW or OSU is pretty unproven as an HC. That guy might end up being amazing on all levels ... but could also be 'meh'. It's basically like our recruiting ... we're not gonna get many (if any) 4 stars. Our strategy is to hope that those 2 and 3 star guys turn out to be 4 stars. And so it goes with this next coach ...

Does it matter what your W/L record is when you are champions of life?
