Pretty sure Thamel even announced Sean Lewis going to SDSU. It was a weird thing to say and I'm not even sure if he knew what he meant. Had he just said, "I need to see how Pat Shurmur - a 2x NFL Head Coach and 4x NFL OC across 10 seasons - will adjust his offense and playcalling to fit the college game..." I would have thought it was a fair take, but even mentioning Sean Lewis with the 2024 Buffs is very strange for one of the premier CFB insiders.

The player in question featured on 1-11, not 4-8. The team was 4-8 due to some personnel mismatches, untimely injuries, and poor coaching on OL and DC. Personnel and coaching has been upgraded. Now just gotta fade injuries…

This is great, what I've been telling friends is that we got about 2 TDs better.
Given how outlandishly bad 2022 was, If say 2-5 points of that could just be regression to the mean, but the rest was just pure talent infusion.

CSU has disappeared during the Coach Prime era and their cheap shots in last year's game probably turned off any Buffs fan who had the slightest rooting interests in the Rams when not playing the Buffs.
