aggies are all cheesed off on their boards. man, those guys are so weird. we get bad with Mac nostalgia sometimes, but they are talking about Jackie Sherrill like he's Bear Bryant and Knute Rockne times 1000. RC Slocum never lost a game at ATM? Jackie put all his programs on probation. He's Barry Switzer without the national championships (and guns maybe)....and a much less interesting interview.

It is a meh hire. Given they were turned down right and left, this is about as good as they were going to get. Could be the next Pete Carroll, could be the next Bill Callahan.

Cons:
Not coaching at all for the last two years
Hasn't coached in college in 27 years
Career losing record as a head coach (.470)
Record as a head coach trended down (never produced a winning record after initial 11-5 season with Falcons)
No recruiting experience
His tenure in Atlanta was riddled with off the field issues and poor discipline

Tressel would have as much success as Bruce did. Minimal. foco won't magically have 4 & 5 star recruits dropping in their lap like blowhio state does. Hell, haLkins could win 6 games a year in Columbus.
