College Football News, Rumor & Humor

Not like Frost is coaching either. Isn't he in the stands on suspension?
Nebraska might be better if he was.

He will serve a 5 day suspension at some time this season and is on a one year show cause for violating the limits on coaches

Nebraska losing yet another heartbreaking game is the gift that keeps on giving…

We got that going for us, which is nice.

Choose-your-enemies-wisely

Auburn THRIVES on dysfunction. The turbulent offseasons fuel good to great seasons.

But when things are "stable" and expectations are high? **** show of a season incoming.

hear me out. Gus Malzahn at OC. Gene Chizik at DC. Could work out. Maybe.

That's awesome

I love these turnover props, it makes the game even more fun if that's even possible. Except for FSU's turnover backpack, that was kinda lame.
Boise with the turnover throne might be the best of all.

Apparently Miami is doing away with the turnover chain which is too bad, but I guess it makes sense with Cristobal being a no-BS type of guy.

You want a turnover gimmick. Give them a envelope with a check for $5-10k. Or do a big ass check on the side line. And the player can grab the sharpie and sign his name.

we would have a top 10 defense due to sheer will.

At Baylor they would give them a coed on the sidelines.

Already posted about this in basketball and Olympic sport threads, but since football gets the most attention, thought I'd also post something about this here.

The NCAA has voted on official changes to transfer rules. (The below quotes are from the NCAA release at https://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/arti...ivision-i-board-adopts-changes-transfer-rules)

A few things:

  • At least for this year, it's been decided NOT to an allow an indefinite number of transfers (as I see was discussed earlier in this thread), but the NCAA has (per the above NCAA link) "adopted new, more specific standards for immediate eligibility waivers for student-athletes who do not otherwise meet the one-time transfer exception, focusing on student-athlete well-being or circumstances outside the student-athlete's control"..
  • Assume this doesn't matter much for P5 schools anyways, but "NCAA rules now will require any school that considers athletics when awarding scholarships to transfer student-athletes to provide that scholarship for the rest of a student's five-year eligibility or until they complete the requirements for their bachelor's degree, unless the student transfers again or engages in professional athletics opportunities."
  • The athletes for each sport, based on when their sports compete, now will have a more limited designated window(s) as to when they can enter the portal. For football, looks like it's 45 days from the Championships Selection reveal show, and then May 1st-15th. (Looks like there may also be special rules if there are coaching changes involved, and given how long the season is drawn out, looks like it will give more time for those involved in the National Championship tourney.)
Full list of dates for each sport:

"
The board adopted the following notification-of-transfer windows:

  • Fall sports: a 45-day window beginning the day after championships selections are made in their sport, or May 1-15.
    • Reasonable accommodations will be made for participants in the Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision championship games.
  • Winter sports: a 60-day window beginning the day after championships selections are made in the sport.
  • Spring sports: Dec. 1-15, or a 45-day window beginning the day after selections are made in the sport. The legislation also establishes exceptions to the new windows for student-athletes who experience head coach changes or have athletics aid reduced, canceled or not renewed.

I read this and I don’t know if I like it or not. Everything has become so convoluted.
