College Football News, Rumor & Humor

You’ve made a prediction without much evidence, reasoning, experience, or knowledge.

90% of the mock drafts show Young going before Stroud. 90% show Young as 1st QB (I've seen one with Levis ahead, 0 with Stroud).

The reasoning is simply Young is a better QB. Not much to reason there boss.

I'm not an NFL GM, never claimed to be one. But, I can make an educated guess. I'll stick with mine, that Young will be 1st QB off the board.

As far as the "mocking", i obviously knew what you meant. I was just being the same type of asshole you were. No worries there.

If you are so certain my prediction isn't good, let's both send $50 to someone here, if any QB gets selected before Young, you get the money. If not, I do. I'm confident in my selection.

You game?

Since so many mock drafts favor your side, I’ll need what us bettors refer to as odds. As you say, 90% of mocks have Young going as the first QB, so you’d need to lay me 9/1, which would compute to your $450 to my $50. If Young is the first QB selected, you get $50. If he’s not, I get your $450.

Feel free to let me know when you’re ready to post.

Signed,

Your boss.

I laid it out.

You declined. Simple as that.

Surely its an easy $50 for you. Look at how you described my choice. You just don't want to back it up.

No worries. I get it.
You don’t understand how betting works. I accepted that we should bet. You’ve declined to back up your position by refusing to lay the appropriate odds.

We get it. You’re trying to weasel out of the bet once you got called out.

You don’t understand how betting works.

I completely understand how it works, and I offered the bet. $50 from each, winner take all. Pretty damn simple.

I accepted that we should bet.

Possibly, but you wanted difference odds, ones that I did not offer in the first place.

You’ve declined to back up your position by refusing to lay the appropriate odds.

I laid out what I was betting. You wanted to change it. You had the chance to accept, seeing as how you are all-knowing, yet you failed to do so.

I am still ready. $50 from each of us, to one person here, if any QB goes before Bryce Young, you win. If Young goes off as the first QB to be selected, you lose.

Just because you want different odds doesn't mean anything. I made an offer for the bet, you refused.

It certainly seems like you valued your opinion at way more than a 50% chance when you posted this:

Either way, the first QB off the board will be Young. That's all I'm saying. Texans, Colts, Lions, whoever else...

I guess it was hyperbole, otherwise you'd be taking Manhattan's $50 right now.

You have this twisted. I never claimed to be all knowing. I claimed that your certainty was unproven.

You do not understand how betting works. You remain supremely confident in your position. Yet, you refuse to lay the appropriate odds. That you don’t understand why this makes you look bad further demonstrates my point about you being clueless.

What if it was 5 and 45?

I made an offer.

$50 from me. $50 from him. One person holds, at his choosing.

Young first QB off the board, I win.

Any other QB off first, he wins.

It's not any easier than that.

If he doesn't want to do it, no problem. I'm okay with that as well.

Don't be obtuse. I offered the bet. It had no odds. You can claim I "refuse to lay appropriate odds" (in your eyes), but they simply were not on the table. You didn't accept.
I understand what you’re trying to do. That’s what I’ve been criticizing. To be clear about why your position is moronic: you’re saying that you’re so confident about an event happening that you’re only willing to lay the odds of it happening at… 50%. Of course I didn’t accept 50/50 odds. You’re the one with the burden of proof since it is you who has constantly proclaimed your certainty.

That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that Manhattan is offering to pay you $50 if the thing you guaranteed actually happens, but for some reason you don't want his money.

All I needed to see.

Thanks.
There’s not one post where I say that the odds of any QB being selected is a coinflip. That’s what YOU’RE saying despite your professed certainty.

You keep asserting your original point without addressing the points that undermine it.
