Sure, I recognize the virus is dangerous and absolutely can be fatal. But like many, in your zeal to avoid the negative to the extreme, you are missing PROGRESS- treatments have greatly improved, hospitalizations are dramatically down, progress is being made on a vaccine, people are much more willing to wear masked, etc. etc.

The progressive mind-set is a loser, usually focused on avoiding a single variate negative (like COVID), creating more unanticipated negatives and eliminating the opportunity for success.

Your zeal to open ‘r up ignores WHY we’ve made progress: more diligence with distancing, mask requirements, and caution in setting up barriers between people. When people take on the REGRESSIVE attitude you have, we have major outbreaks like Iowa or spreader events like the Sturgis biker rally.

As for the other stuff, I’ll believe it when we have proper phased trials. 200K Americans dead from COVID-19 already, inclduing another 1K dead today, it doesn’t seem like we’re making sufficient progress to justify amateur sports.

But they could be eligible for the CFP by starting on 10/17. That's the whole point

Right, 6 presidents need to change their vote. OSU, nebraska and Iowa are the yes votes. I could see IU, Purdue, PSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin changing their votes. Minnesota and Maryland who knows. But it doesn't sound like they'll take another vote without knowing they already have the necessary number of votes to overturn the decision.

Mich St prez just quarantined campus until 9/26 because of 342 new cases.
 
Covid-19 is over in Florida. The bars are open, the restaurants are packed. Few masks. I personally disagree, but few people seem to care any more. When epidemiologists are asked when pandemics end, they usually respond when the virus dies out, or mutates to a less virulent form, or a vaccine or good treatment is developed, or people accept it and stop caring. Floridians by and large moved to the last option rather quickly.
