Total incompetence on someone's part. Everyone except AD leadership knew that Buffalo wouldn't run - tons of people were insisting they have backups, more than one ready.
For many this is a big deal and an important part of CU tradition.
They announced this today? Why the wait - keep fans from complaining?
Last year her lousy performance seemed like a bad omen. Feels double that for Friday.
Inexcusable and I am pissed.
I wonder if they retire Ember's number.
How many buffalo do they have to work with? How could they have not one ready to go?
Buffaloes are a social animal. The cost of always have two can't be that much more than the cost of having one. Having a second one in training at all times makes sense, from a number of standpoints. It gives them a ready backup. Even if for some reason the primary doesn't feel right on a particular game day.
Maybe we can get Indiana’s from the portal.

I had to check, but Kelce didn't play college at Utah. He went to Cincinnati. So I have no idea why Utah would do that.

It is sort of crazy how the Ralphie situation got to this point. I mean, the Ralphie group has one job—get a buffalo ready to run on gameday.
It was pretty obvious when Ember started “running” years ago that she wasn’t well-suited for the job. But instead of getting an alternative in place, Ember gets retired just before the start of the season. I’d love to know the thinking behind the series of decisions that got us here.

What are the chances this dude’s on the field this weekend vs Notre Dame?
I mean they knew they weren’t going to run her this season by the end of last season. CU just chose not to announce her retirement until right before the season. We could have moved faster on finding a new one right when they knew she wasn’t into it. But they didn’t just decide a week ago to not run her this season.
I think the only thing they didn't know was the timeline for the new Ralphie being ready.
