College Football October 10th

A 7-0 Pac12 champ will need a lot of help from other conferences to get in. And that's with counting the big 12 out

Not as much as you might think. Quick takes on the SEC/ACC:

SEC: Alabama's the only team that I'd be surprised to see lose, but they're showing tonight they're capable of doing so. We can write off the rest of the west already as a playoff contender, even with Jimbo getting easily the best win of his Aggie tenure today. Georgia's not good enough offensively to hang with Alabama, and I still think Florida will be able to move the ball on them. The Gators go to Tennessee first week of December. Alabama's trip to Tennessee COULD be a bit of a trap for them because it comes right after the Georgia game-but that's all that stands out there.
ACC: Here's where a CFP contender from the Pac 12 probably needs help. Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, and North Carolina seem like they're in a class of their own. Clemson is up 14-0 on Miami as I write this. They go to Notre Dame on Nov. 7, and then play at Virginia Tech in December. Don't really see them dropping another game. Notre Dame goes to UNC Thanksgiving weekend on top of the trip to Clemson, but misses Miami. UNC misses Clemson.

A 1-loss Miami/ND who misses out on the ACC title game is a real threat. There's also the real possibility of a 1-loss B1G runner-up. An undefeated B1G champ would 100% get in. And I don't see a 7-0 Pac12 champ getting in over a 1-loss SEC non-champ. Of course this all assumes the Pac12 ends up with an undefeated team in the first place.

Anyone second guessing Dabo for attempting that FG that got blocked and returned for a TD by the Canes right before halftime? The Canes have some momentum...could be a good second half.

Clemson's CBs are better than Miami's WRs. Clemson advantage in the trenches, too. Canes' slim hope rides on their D, special teams and King.

If Miami is going to win this game it will have to be with King. They're not winning it with their defense

Clemson might not want to attempt another FG for the rest of the game.

Bama has a very suspect defense.

Unfortunately for Ole Miss, they have no defense.
I’m not willing to call them very suspect. I do believe OM O is very well schemed. Bama D did not look very suspect in previous games.

Clemson is just fun to watch. I love Lawrence's toughness, not sure what the unsportsmanlike penalty was for. (Spiking the ball, really?)

Don't forget about North Carolina. I'm impressed with the Heels from what I've seen. Its hard to talk about the Big 10 until we see them play-we know Ohio State's going to be good, but we don't know about Michigan, Penn State, and the 2nd best team in the B1G West (they are doing the same round robin thing we are on December 19) yet. I think we're going to see a lot of parody in the SEC-Alabama might lose tonight, and I think A&M and Auburn lose at least one more game each. I think Georgia's offense is below average. Tennessee is going to beat either Alabama (they get the Tide at home in two weeks) or Florida.

Hotty Toddy and Bama - SEC after dark. And what’s up with Hail State? The bandwagon promo video after the LSU win is not aging well. Can’t wait to see the Buffs play - hopefully the whole country doesn’t shut down again.

UNC closes with ND and Miami plus they have tricky games against UVA and NC State along the way. Hard to imagine a 1-loss SEC non-champ unless Georgia beats Bama and loses to Florida, and Florida runs the table the rest of the way.

Yeah I can't see that happening in the SEC-there's way more parody than I thought in that conference (even Arkansas looks to have a pulse).
