College Football October 10th

UNC closes with ND and Miami plus they have tricky games against UVA and NC State along the way. Hard to imagine a 1-loss SEC non-champ unless Georgia beats Bama and loses to Florida, and Florida runs the table the rest of the way.

UNC will make a title run next season IMO.

Mack Brown must be loving being out of the Texas show with the boosters and the rest of it.

Guy was a winner at UNC before and won a lot of games at Texas. Seems like he kind of lost interest his last four years with the horns (still went 30-21, 18-17 in the B12) but is seems like he has his energy and enthusiasm back.

Clemson is the best team I've seen, so far. Alabama is up there, but their D isn't what it's been in the past. We'll see with Blowhio State. Idk who else to throw in there, hate to say it, Notre Dame maybe. Probably Georgia as well.

Missed the games yesterday and sounds like some good ones.

The Ehlinger JAG take was the best take all day though. :ROFLMAO:
He missed an open receiver and threw it to the DB on the play that won the game for OU.

He's a good college QB but how many of the playoff hopefuls look at him and say "Wish we had him to lead us." People acting like he is a future HOF player. My point was, and totally missed by those who think Elhlinger is the second coming was for a program like Texas with all the recruiting advantages they have how they can't seem to ever (other than V. Young) get a truly elite QB. As usual some of the typical suspects chasing squirrels.

There were some very entertaining games yesterday. This is a strange season so far with some teams showing unexpected weaknesses and some others looking better than expected.

Open? He was bracketed.

The only one saying he is the second coming is you. You realize there is a difference between JAG, really good QB, and a second coming? 🤦‍♂️

For teams that are expected to be top 20 type teams and that recruit in the top 20 consistently he is nothing special. He has big stats but that is a factor of the league he is in, the talent around him, and the offense. Proof is in the losses. He has not been a guy who has elevated the team.

Open? He was bracketed.
The receiver in the short corner of the end zone was bracketed, if he was throwing the ball there it was a bad read. Number 6 Moore was behind the DBs by 2 steps, an easy throw over the top and he has the TD with room to work.

Go back and look at the play.

I looked at the play many times before I posted. Two receivers. DB had inside leverage on deep receiver running him to end line and close enough to bracket over top on underneath receiver.

Underneath DB had inside leverage on out route forcing him to boundary.

To which receiver was Ehlinger supposed to throw the ball?

I’ll discuss this all day long. Bring your lunch.

Back receiver had separation and room behind him to work. A quality throw over the top is a TD (or a PI) not an INT.

No question that Ehlinger is talented and he racks up impressive numbers, in the end though he doesn't do what is needed to elevate his team. That play is just representative of that problem, and yes an elite level QB would have made that throw for the TD, not the INT.

And it was 2nd and Goal, you don't throw an INT on that play if you are an elite QB.

He is supposed to throw a ball over underneath DB, over first receiver and over top defender with inside leverage. That’s what play would have looked like to him at release decision?!?!?

I’m sorry, Green Bay 12 wasn’t playing yesterday.

I’ll pay for your subscription to PFF if that pass has 33 percent or greater of completion. You do same for me.

Throw the ball into coverage for the INT and your team has a zero percent chance of winning. That is what he did.

The throw over the top was open, make it and you win, overthrow it and it's 3rd down. Sorry but on the key play of the game your boy failed.

Nobody is asking him to be Rodgers or Brees, they are asking for better than a 2-2 record this year and 8-5 last year. He's good but falls short of what a lot of other QBs coming out of Texas have been.

Mtn, respect your opinion, but I think there’s an argument to be made that Ehlinger’s performance in the 4th quarter is largely the reason why Texas had an opportunity to win that game. He showed arm talent, running ability, leadership, and grit. The whole conversation stemmed from you characterizing him as “just a guy.” His performance in this game, and throughout his career shows he’s more than that. He didn’t have enough to pull out the win yesterday, but if anything, his performance in the 4th and the first few overtime periods show he’s anything but just a guy for that team.
