Colorado RPI Watch

You think we're going to lose at home to Oregon State and go winless in the conference tournament? Seriously? We have been a lock for weeks.

Someone needs to work on reading comprehension. Go tell me where I said we were losing our last 3 and report back to me. And no, we have not been a "lock" for weeks. We've been in "good shape" for weeks. There's a big difference.

You seem to not be able to distinguish possibilities and likelihoods.

So in 2011 when we were snubbed from the dance a 19 win USC team with a high RPI similar to ours made it into the dance along with several teams with less impressive resumes. We will at least split the next two games at home and win one game in the conference tournament. Can you explain to me how we are not in the dance right now when Joe Lunardi has us solidly in and not even on the bubble?

Yes, and we are definitely in the dance. Any talk to the contrary is simply wrong.
Have you already forgotten 2011? We're far from a lock. And losing 4 straight to end the season wouldn't exactly leave a strong impression on the committee. I'm confident we'll get at least two more wins and get in, but we're not a lock at this point.

Right now, it looks good. But Lunardi's March 2nd projection won't mean **** if we don't finish strong.

This really isn't a hard concept, home boy. No one is claiming CU is not in the Dance as it stands right now. Everyone agrees that we are likely to do more than enough to get in. HOWEVER, IF CU was to lose 4 in a row to end the season, we would be on extremely thin ice and things would be dicey. That's what every single poster has been saying before you barged in screaming holy hell.

Right and the bubbles every year are the same. What do you think will happen if we are fighting with Kentucky for a spot in the dance and we are coming off four straight losses.

I apologize if I came of abrasive. I am just sick of the downer attitude from CU fans. We lost to the hottest team in the league today, a loss that really does not hurt our tournament chances. If the experts have us solidly in why are people freaking out about making the dance? That's all I'm saying.

I'm all about the mentality change as well, but the facts are that CU can't afford to slip at the end. You are right that today's loss (a road loss to #40 RPI) doesn't do much damage in terms of CU's chances for the Dance. We are in good shape right now, but we need another win or two to ice it. That's all anyone is saying. We're in good shape, but the team better come out ****ing ready to play against Oregon, both to lock up our Dance status and to hopefully boost ourselves up a seed or two into a more favorable first game in the Dance.

Understood, just take it easy with the absolutes. Nobody is sweating the loss for our tourney chances. We just all get angry when the entire team is flat and we lay an egg on the road. 46 points? Really?

I'm angry too, but not that concerned. As much as shooting 23% is unacceptable, one more win and we are solid. Even if we lose to Oregon I see no way we lose to Oregon State, they have given up.

I want us to go into the dance hot. That means winning the next two and at least two more in the PAC 12 tourney.

The good news, god forbid it should come to it, is the bubble got a LOT weaker today. Kentucky, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Alabama all ****ed themselves over in various forms today. The nail is in the coffins of Ole Miss, Arizona State and Alabama.

Now let's finish the night strong with some opponents getting wins to keep the RPI as healthy as possible.

When did stepping on your own dick become a bad thing? It just means you have a big dick.
True but Junction makes a point too lol. They should call Ucla University of North Carolina at Los Angeles, 3 former holes on that squad.

Murray State loses at home to SE Missouri State. So much for that being a top 100 win, they're a disaster lately.

Today was pretty much an RPI disaster for us except for Dayton looking like it's making a push.

Murray State must honestly be trying to be this awful. Murray's collapse is not the end of the world if Dayton gets in the top 100 though, which looks quite likely at this point. The other bright side is USC is now solidly in there at 89.

Miserable day overall, yet almost everything that could go wrong did, and we're still sitting 29th and very likely will finish the night at 28th.

Insane year for college basketball overall. That Penn Sate team that beat #4 UM, scored all of 12 points in the first half vs. Minnesota today. Butler gets blown out by 30+; Lammies lose to Boise St (WTF?) Az wimps out again.

Seems every team has one great player and no more than 2 other guys who are very good and a whole bunch of role players. It depends on which set of players show up consistently on any given night. Too weird!

Parity at its finest. Still need to shorten the 35 sec. and O-reset clock.
