Colorado vs USC Game

Started following CU in 2013. I'm guessing this is what 2012 felt like.

I believe we're making huge karma payments now and the ecstacy we experience from the Pac12 championships that start coming in a few years is going to be that much sweeter!
I have adopted my daughter's schools she is applying to this year, just in case she gets into one. It is actually making Saturdays a lot more enjoyable...rooting for good teams. Then which ever one she gets into, I'm going all in.
I will always love CU and probably loosely follow, but I am getting too old to be this miserable. Sad, but I'm not ****ing joking.

I once thought I was pretty safe in terms of having at least one team to root for each season who didn't suck between CU, VT and UW.

Want to cry some more?
Go to the recruiting page and look at those who have committed to cu. then look at the other schools that have given them offers.
We are getting kids who are not being recruited by P5 schools. Some are 0 star athletes.
I have been saying this since Dorrell arrived. They have no system in place and no idea who and how to recuit. Forget Dorrell's coaching ineptitude, this is what will bury this program for another decade. Oh, and stay tuned. I'm hearing some of those "stellar" recruits may just be reopening their recruitment before the bye week is over. So there's that...

What the **** am I supposed to do? My oldest doesn’t go to college for another eight years.

I am now a Bama fan. Losers.
I genuinely don't know how much sarcasm is in that, but I suspect there are truly a lot of fans who already have, or are trying to, pick a "new team" out of the handful of schools who have a shot at the CFP.

I think a lot more are just quitting on the sport though.

I detected 100% sarcasm.

my niece and step-niece are at Bama…but I’d never go all in on Bama. My Nephew is at kNU…I feel bad for his education scenario, and spent the “35” years of my life not giving a **** about nub football, so why start now?

My attachment to The Buffs was always them seeming to have an upper hand on kNU from about 89-ish to then end of the Big XII days, no matter what the score was on the game. I disliked kNU, and growing up in the 80’s and 90’s…CU was just that school that was similar to having that friend that showed you all the cool stuff in life, but you didn’t want your parents knowing that you were hanging out with. So, it was a lot of ESPN recaps for me, or if I was home alone, like when the miracle at Michigan happened.

Good football is not exclusive to FBS and can be seen in the FCS & D2 ranks. This is a good alternative to watching the Buffs playing very poorly on offense which leads to a lopsided loss.

Here's a thought: watching games on demand instead of watching games live. If the game was a good one, you can watch it on your own time. That is what is awesome about something that I don't work for which is ESPN+ and if you have it on DVR. If you are not into the NFL, that could be a good time to watch such games.

I sincerely hope that the CU offense turns it around against UA after the bye week.

I never thought we were going to win that game, but all the highlights they keep showing of the explosive downfield plays by USC seemed to be solid coverage and great athletic plays by London and some of his peers.

London is gonna get paid after this season.

I remember seeing engineers from Mines out at the bars in Boulder. They always looked wide-eyed like Amish on their first day of Rumspringa.
That was me mid-senior year of HS, when I pretty much started coasting to graduation day. I was sad that I waited so long to really five into the social aspect of high school. One of the only good things about my two weeks of working at Best Buy was getting in solid with the main facilitators of parties. I think this even continued through to most of us working at Circuit City together about a year and a half later.

Just out of curiosity I looked up their overall record.

In the history of their program they have had a total of 5 coaches who were there more than one season and had a winning career record. 3 of those were prior to 1915.

Many years back I remember Irv Brown talking with former coach Marv Kay on his program. Kay told Irv that his offensive line included two players who had scored 36 (max possible score) and that the lowest of the group was a 34.

He joked about them being too smart to be good football players since they knew that they were going to make much more money upon graduation than their coaches did.

I would do that, but my child has chosen a school without a football team. So I guess we have that in common.

My son is trending that way. Other than Stanford as his #1 school, he’s looking at Brown, Penn, MIT, and Carnegie Melon. Uuuuhhh laaame.

*He’s a freshman. Things can change. Fingers crossed.

Every one of those schools has a football program. Technically, anyway. Even MIT.
And they'll probably win more games than CU does this year too.

Edit: I thought about researching that statement, but then thought "we're only winning one game this year, the odds are with me."

I have Vandy and CU. Try that out.

The Vandy connection may be the source of the present CU curse: I attended Vandy during the one year HC Mike Mac was a student “athlete” there, and then DiNardo became the head coach and tried to bring the I-Bone attack to Vandy (he even changed the Vandy uniforms to look exactly like CU’s—only the logos on the helmets looked different: it was eerie, like CU was reincarnated into this awful ghost of a football team.

That was the height of the CU program, 88-90. its been a long slow descent into madness since. Not a linear connection, but curses rarely are.

And he passed up Northern Colorado and Nebraska for those schools?

We have family friends who's son was trying to get a research fellowship at Stanford Med. When asked what he will do if he doesn't get the Stanford opportunity what would he do his fallbacks were Harvard Med and Staying at Columbia where he did his bachelors with honors.

Life has to be rough when your fallback is Harvard fully paid for.
