Conference Championship Games 12/6-12/7

Who do we want to win? I think ASU is better but they’re smug assholes and we haven’t really had to deal with ISU in recent years and they’ve never really done me anything so I’ll go for the Clones.
Dillingham is fun, Campbell is boring.

I can't imagine Dillingham leaving ASU.

Campbell will finally take a payday when he realizes he's done the most possible in Ames already.

Go Sun Devils.

It’ll be interesting to see what Dillingham does. ASU alum, although he didn’t play there, but he will likely get some big offers in the coming years.

Campbell, otoh, has revived his promotion chances but I’m not sure if there will be an opening this year that makes sense for him. Perhaps Ohio State if they decide to live away from Day?

Idk, for even money the majority of P4 jobs are better than ISU.

Unnecessary review.

Game flow is a real problem with this sport being watchable.
Correct. It’s not so much the length of the commercial breaks but rather the frequency. Especially if there’s a kickoff around the two minute warning.

It would never happen, but here's my radical proposal:

No 2 minute warnings, 90 sec TV timeouts for the first clock stoppage under 5:00 in each quarter.

3 team timeouts, only one is 40 seconds long, the other two are 20 seconds. Give the corporate bastards a 30 second commercial break for the 40 sercond TO. Same extra 40 seconds between scores with 30 second commercial.

The Kirby rule, 1 TO per OT, but it's only 10 seconds long, basically a way to avoid a pre snap penalty or get a peek at formation, but not grinding the flow to a stop.

Why is Campbell at ISU still anyway? I even remember him being mentioned for some NFL jobs. Was he too picky at the time and the ship sailed in the meantime?

Or go for more split screen commercials. But the networks need to recoup some of the money they pay for this somehow and I don’t see the conferences telling Disney please give us less money so you can run fewer commercials

Wonder if Purdue would pursue him. If the rumors about Purdue only having $400k for NIL the past couple years, I think that job is entirely toxic, but if they get some $$$ commitment from the University and boosters, he could be a fit there.
I think Purdue is just happy cashing the B1G football checks and using that money to chase a natty in basketball.

I personally hate the split screen commercials in baseball, but it could be different in football.

I wish I enjoyed soccer more, the flow of the broadcasts are far superior. Hockey is really good in that regard as well.

I’m at my daughter’s soccer game so I can’t watch - but this looked entertaining.

I think ASU would have been tougher matchup for us vs ISU. Especially if we played like Kansas game.

I'm really interested to see what direction Walters takes after not being able to work a miracle, then getting the talent on his roster raided.

I wouldn't hate to see him have a recovery year for a modest price as a defensive analyst with Prime while he rakes in his buyout money.

I hope that ASU keeps rolling. ISU is well coached and tough, but they look slow. ASU has a better chance of not embarrassing the conference in the playoffs.

The real problem I see for the Big 12 in the playoffs and in bowl games is that there's a clear hierarchy of DLs in CFB: SEC>B1G>ACC>B12. If you take a look at NFL draft grades & projections, it bears this out. Glad that CU has put so much focus on this in recruiting and coaching staff, because having a dominant DL changes everything.

From what I’ve seen, Iowa State looks mediocre. Not surprised by this score, but I thought with Tyson being out, that could equalize the game somewhat.

Campbell would obviously leave if offered, but I can’t see OSU hiring Campbell. No splash whatsoever. The pitchfork crowd is set on Urban Meyer or Mike Vrabel. They’re tired of losing the physical battle with Michigan so they will jump at Vrabel.
