Yep. If the players knew anything, it would have leaked.I really doubt the players have any inside knowledge of any candidates. They are probably getting the same info as us (through Twitter or all buffs/247 etc).

Agreed but the pessimist in me says all it would take is for the AD to step on its d!ck again and have the preferred candidate(s) get cold feet and balk.I do feel a little more confident that it won't be Langsdorf at least. That would still be worst case scenario. Anyone else I am at least confident would be better than Chev.
I am in no way guaranteeing it won't be him. But at least we've seen names indicating this wasn't just a show to promote him in the end.Agreed but the pessimist in me says all it would take is for the AD to step on its d!ck again and have the preferred candidate(s) get cold feet and balk.
This is where my head went. It's not done until the ink is dry. Waiting for that 11th hour Landsdorf kick in the balls...Agreed but the pessimist in me says all it would take is for the AD to step on its d!ck again and have the preferred candidate(s) get cold feet and balk.
After thinking about it, Sanford would be a pretty decent pick up. I would be OK with that level of hire.Sanford would make sense based off what Karl prefers. Sanford has shot up the coaching tree quickly.
He's still very young so improvement can most certainly happen. Wouldn't love it, but wouldn't hate it. About on par for Karl Dorrell
I do feel a little more confident that it won't be Langsdorf at least.
Last few years/stops a little choppy, but clearly an upgrade.Sanford would be about as good a hire at OC as CU has seen, on paper. His pedigree is outstanding. RC/QB/RB coach for several years at Stanford under Shaw. OC/QB for several years at Notre Dame under Kelly. Hired away from ND to be HC at Western Kentucky. OC at a successful Minnesota.
I'm not pumping for the guy, he doesn't appear the best thing since sliced bread. I do think he would be an interesting hire, a better hire than I would ever expected out of KD for the OC position. If he is the guy I won't be jumping for joy but I won't be as bummed out as I'm expecting to be.
I don't think this guy has much credibly, but since we've already gotten drive-by scoop today I'll through it out there
I don't think anyone at CU will complain if he have a high powered offense to go with itMarion is definitely a lot like Chev in regards to social media promotion
They will.I don't think anyone at CU will complain if he have a high powered offense to go with it
I have absolutely no problem with thisMarion is definitely a lot like Chev in regards to social media promotion

Sanford is unemployed so, he has no leverage.Marion, Sanford, either would be a huge upgrade from what we had.
Unfortunately I've been a fan of CU long enough to know that both coaches are using CU for leverage and will not be coming here.
Super excited for the presser with KD and RG telling us how Langsdorf really checked all the boxes on what they were looking for with the OC.
Sanford is unemployed so, he has no leverage.
Only if CU is the only school he is talking with.Sanford is unemployed so, he has no leverage.
"Coffee is for closers" Chev was the best Chev.Marion is definitely a lot like Chev in regards to social media promotion
Yep.Marion is VERY aggressive with regards to promoting himself and his career. Look at his job history.
2 years coaching high school.
1 year as a qc assistant at ASU
1 year as a d2 RB coach
3 years as an FCS OC.
1 year as a G5 WR coach
1 year as a P5 WR coach
Potentially a P5 OC...
He's trying to get to the top. Personally I love it. I want guys like this in our program. I want people that demand success from themselves. If he succeeds here he's going to be looking for a HC position in a couple of seasons. Let's hope he takes KD's job.
I was thinking about this recently. Who on the staff today had the potential to be a HC? I don't think anyone. Outside of at CU who could even become a coordinator? Coach Smith maybe, not sure there is anyone else.Yep.
Of course, we will have some people who think that "ambitious" and "upwardly mobile" are negative traits in a coach.
Who on the staff today had the potential to be a HC?
Let Marion come in here, fix this "O" for a couple years. KD steps aside after his contract is over. Marion gets the HC job. CU is back on top for a decade! (Dreaming I know)Marion is VERY aggressive with regards to promoting himself and his career. Look at his job history.
