The destructive reign of Larry Scott and George K should be bolded in this. The PAC was good in the 00’s. Never capitalized on the rise of Oregon, let the USC scandal(s) tarnish up that dynasty. Didn’t try and get a lifesaving cash in last December when Prime came to Boulder. Let the feel of the network and presentation of the conference become a premium version of the MWC…even during this last season.
The scene was electric at that game last night. Mind-blowing it was the final game of a defunct conference.

I don’t know…the Hulk Hogan Nikolai Volkoff battles in the 80’s really helped put the Cold Wat into prospective for my early to mid single digit ages. The Land of Confusion music video, too. So mid 80’s WWF is what I’m hoping for.My preference is old school wrestling, courtesy of Sunday morning television in the 1970s. Wahoo McDaniel was a god.
There were a lot of mis steps. The blame goes far far beyond the missteps of just the commissioners. We saw plenty of indifference to football at CU. That was an issue in the Presidents office at most of the campuses.
Its hard for to blame the commissioner George when you expected a premium but gave him years and years of a ****ty product to sell.
The product was fine. The fans just didn’t watch.
On the network that was nearly impossible to get for half a decade? Or the games that finish well after midnight ?
By “product”, I meant the games themselves. Not the network. Ratings were poor due to late times and east coast broadcast bias. People didn’t watch even when on primary networks.

Busch Light…might be in the fringes of hot dish country for games in Ames. Casey’s pizza too.
The PAC12 was really ****ing good until about 2014-2015. Just a deep conference that struggled with that top 4 team like the ACC had with Clemson. Everyone likes to **** on GK but he had no chance. USC and UCLA leaving was the death blow and happened almost immediately. ESPN and Fox were clearly not going to give the rest of the 10 schools a life line after that no matter how good he was at his job. This is squarely on Scott who just sat back taking raises as his product went down the tube.
It also has nothing to do with late night games. The NBA doesn’t bitch about Laker or warrior ratings when they start their games at 10:30 eastern, they know the value of those markets. College football is just broken and it will get worse before it gets better.

Noticed that. He's holding a grudge against us, just like all the others who blame us for 'killing the Pac-12' because they have Stockholm Syndrome from being USC's bitches for decades.
