CU vs CSU.....never too early

Correct me if I'm wrong....don't remember dbl teaming Rashaard Higgins and we won that game....I have confidence that Oliver or whoever will be a blanket on Gallup....make no mistake, Gallup and Laguda are buds...but Laguda will put that aside for a clean hit against him..

Now what CU needs to do is to use that advantage and pound them badly enough to remove both the excuses and the desire to continue to play us.

The only way to kill this series and shut up their fans is to repeatedly beat them badly enough that they don't want to talk about it.

Which is what's going to happen. The tides have turned. The ship has been righted. The talent disparity is getting greater. They can't possibly recruit good enough DB's to compete with the WR's we have now or in the future. Oh and the WR's coming in are better then anything they have now

Can't repeat this often enough.

"We should beat csu, 55-10. We should always beat csu 55-10. Every year in the score predictions, I pick us to beat them 55-10. This year, I will pick us to beat them 55-10. They are sheep." - @Liver
Pretty sure their new football field, and the old one too, are named after their legendary coach, who went 4-9 versus the Buffs.

For your own sakes, I hope most of you posting in this thread are right.
Duff be like.... ;)

I think we should win pretty easily, but I'm not going to pile on their O-line. Seems like every year they are start 4 new guys, and every year those guys do pretty well against us up front.

They didn't last year. They didn't get a first down until the second quarter was almost over IIRC.

I think its somewhat in reach for CSU first half....players make plays, players win games....depth.....then 3rd qtr happens....then Network doesn't pan out on the crowd on CSU side....game CU 50 ish CSU 20ish

You are correct, and that probably coincides with us having actual D-linemen for the first time in forever. But I still have flashbacks to a couple of years ago when they had 4 or 5 new guys and just ran it down our throat all day.

The last time Dan Hawkins coached against CSU, we beat them 24-3 and we really didn't do much in the second half of the 2010 game. Even CSU only beat us by five points in our one win season in 2012. When we had good teams especially 2001, we whipped them hard.

As a citizen of this state, I have enjoyed the CSU-CU rivalry but this rivalry is going to be one sided again no matter how good CSU is and there is no point in continuing this series on an annual basis. We are more like an old Big 12 South team than an old Big 12 North team in the Pac-12 so we are going to have the advantage over them one way or another.

Only way we lose or win in a close game is we beat ourselves.

So..... I work with quite a few Rammies.....either its a DNA thing, but they all have common themes...they say:
1. CU was a fluke last year
2. Without Leavitt we have fallen of the planet
3. Montez not good
4 Their 7-6 MW team is going to blow up on Offense
5. Idaho debacle was because CSU didn't want to go to the bowl game
6 Other teams have figured out our Offense (Here are some our points of our figured out Offense 44,56,41,47,40,49,38)

Other than I know the truth and all I can say is "We will see what we see"....some one help me understand the delusional state of mind ....keep in mind I have said plenty of times 99% of our Offense is back with CHIV and CSU still has the same coaches?
You sound worried. Quit being such a pussy.

CU hasn't won 3 in a row against the sheep since 2003 - 2005. Makes me nervous, especially with our brand new defense.
I'm shocked that any program was bad enough to drop 2 straight to the Buffs at any time in the 2006-2015 decade. CSU should be ashamed to have gone 4-6 against CU during those years.

I'm with Duff here.

CSU improved greatly throughout the season. 2016 in review (I watched every game):
After being completely embarrassed by us, they were able to turn it around.
They lost a game they should have won AT Minnesota. Minnesota was a good team.
They were caught off guard by a very good Wyoming team the next week.
They should have beaten Boise State.
They lost a nail biter at Air Force.
Nobody beat them like we did.
Their offense was humming by mid-season.

They will play Oregon State tough at home in the opener. Game could go either way. I am picking CSU.
They will not be "beat up and worn out" after one game against anyone. They will be fresh and pumped for their Super Bowl.

Their HC is a very good Offensive Coach.
Their DC is solid and has been for a long time.
Our D staff is going to be working thru some kinks.

A lot will be known early in this game. If Montez is composed, I think we score a lot of points. If he gets rattled early, which is easy to do, and throws some mistakes, or we have early turnovers, it could be a dog fight. I expect every phase to count, especially Special Teams.

The beat some good teams and played good teams tough in close losses. Except Colorado.
Colorado embarrassed them. They will have extra motivation. Will we?

Those expecting another dominating victory will almost certainly be disappointed.

Good analysis but they definitely should not have beat Boise state.

I'm not worried. Almost beating Air Force is a little different than playing the defending PAC12 South champs.
