CU vs WSU 11/19

I don't think it has anything to do with GameDay, but I'd definitely think it's a good sign that we're very much in play for one of the prime time slots on either ESPN/ABC or FS1.
I know Klatt said he was pushing his bosses to pick up this game so he could call it. If that happens, it'll be on Fox not FS1

No to the 8:15 game.

I don't care if it means no game day. I hate late night games in November. 1:30 is absolutely perfect.

I didn't realize Fox had 2 games that weekend and only knew that ASU/UW was gonna be on it, so I assumed it'd be FS1.

It looks like all of the games, except for ASU vs UW are using the 6 day window. If it makes anyone feel better, the tv networks use this for every conference, not just Pac-12.

Hell no to ESPN. 8:15? That's a terrible time. I don't want to get banished to the cable TV tier at 8:15 when nobody else will be watching, 1:30 on fox or bust. I can't remember a time I've turned off the 6PM ABC game for something ESPN is airing. I imagine most people are like me and watch "game of the week."

Given that most of recruiting is in the MT and PT time zones, I don't believe the 8:15PM MT is unfavorable to CU. I'd argue it gives exposure to most of our recruiting base in a time slot when we're competing with few other games.

maybe we lose a few T-shirt sales to east coasters who see the Buffs and think black and gold are cool colors? whatever, I'll take the recruiting bump and the energy of a night home game!

Oklahoma at WVU

And the prime time slot remains vacant for now. Does ESPN have the first pick for both the B12 and P12? Or does FOX?
my mistake, i was thinking that selection tweet was only between the Pac games.

Being on the main national Fox channel during the day at a prime time for college football is damn decent, too.

Can't argue any of that because I don't know. But I can argue that the 6PM game is usually the 2 highest ranked teams of the week. The appeal is always really good and there's no assurance anyone would tune into ESPN to watch us. I dunno.

As a high school junior or senior, were you ever planted in front of a TV set at 8:15pm on a Saturday night?

You guys had a very different high school experience than I did. By second semester my sophomore year, I was out until right at curfew without fail - and many times past it.
gotcha. By my junior year in high school I was pretty much permanently grounded and had to wait for mom to pass out before I headed out with my friends.

We recruit Texas heavily too, so I do not buy the 8:15 spot being great for recruiting.

East Coaster hoping for early start. Your 8pm start means 10pm here. Those games end tomorrow. Rough Sunday mornings. No complaints though, just keep winning

OK. you follow CU recruiting way closer than I do, but on today's roster there's literally an order of magnitude more Cali guys than Texas guys.

Same number of commits from each of those states in the 2017 class. Significant part of the recruiting strategy going forward. We need more exposure there.

Not really gametime related but I did see the college GameDay tour bus at hampden and Santa Fe going north about 2:30 this afternoon. I couldn't think of a reason why it would be down there.
