Zook would be a homerun hire for CU. Beyond his defensive and special teams chops, he has always been a fantastic recruiter.

If it somehow ended up that Seto came here as DC and Zook came as STC, I'd have to head to the doctor about 6 hours after the announcement.

:smile2:

Why does the DC have to be on one of the Final 4 teams in the NFL playoffs? It could just as easily be a coach who is just waiting for the NFL coaching carousel to finish
Probably a good point. A lot of movement at this time in the NFL, so this could be just as easily whats going on.

And our unicorns always crap rainbows of hope and glory. Until they don't. It can't just be an nfl guy. It has to be a great nfl guy. The crushing weight of lofty expectations is the remaining vanity of our weary fan base.

Poetic. In an Edgar-Allen-Poe-I-want-to-swallow-a-.45 sort of way.

Will be interesting to hear how this whole process went down. Hope we get to hear the recap some day. Louisiana Tech is know for good defense I think, but a coach choosing that over CU..... get a spine. Maybe V.J. drove up to boulder after his meeting in englewood. Wouldn't that be something.

He left the Duke DL job for the La Tech DL job, that's a step down in my book, no way we were interested in him. Not to mention, he doesn't fit the type of guy Mac wanted at all.

Ringo saw he was leaving Duke so he speculated that maybe he's coming here... Move along folks, nothing more to see. Feel free to ridicule Ringo publicly though. Remember, they retained the wrong Kyle at the BDC.

How about, like, a dark molé. You know, to represent the state's natural ore deposits and whatnot.

I'm trying to work within the confines of the current state of the program. We are far too hungry to appreciate the delicate and subtle blend of chile, heat, and cocoa.

the delay is not random.

either we are striking out left and right and scrambling to find the right guy or we are waiting for someone who is involved in other things right now, like the playoffs. or a combo of both.

please, mr. unicorn, shat forth a glorious dc riding a rainbow waterfall of recruiting triumph.

Petri to LA Tech per Coaching Search ticker. Likely next DC still in NFL playoffs at this point. Either go off of MM's comments of DC should have PAC 12 experience or this coach has worked with MM in the past. Doubt we've struck out as much as we assume.

Based on all known criteria, there isn't a better fit than Rocky Seto.

Pac-12 DC experience? Check.

Recruiting chops in footprint? Check.

Young and innovative? Check.

Plus, he seems like he'd be a perfect personality mesh with MacIntyre as a DB Coach and person of faith.

(I'm going to be so disappointed when it's not Seto. :bang: )

So, we have a reason to root for the Packers. Fine.

When end I read NotKyleMcCall's article on the search, it left me with the feeling that the interview with George was granted to keep us hopeful and leak some hints. Hints to something positive. At this point though, I could just be delusional.

So how long does it take to install a new defense? We're getting in to crunch time here with Spring Practice starting so early this year

I think that Ken Norton Jr or Kris Richard are more likely than Seto

Totally agree. Seto isn't going from USC DC to Seattle Seahawks Passing Game Defensive coordinator back to Colorado's DC (or any CFB DC position most likely). That's a fantasy Nik.

Money talks

We're not talking about paying anybody 10x what they can make elsewhere and so I think you are overstating what money can do. People make career decisions for all sorts of reasons and money is only one of them.

Seto is on the cusp of an NFL DC gig (maybe even within weeks). Money talks... for the NFL

Money talks until the talk includes Texas ****ing Tech. I refuse to even entertain the idea of Seto as CU DC. I'll just end up disappointed.
