I love Coach Prime, and he’s a great recruiter, but he’s mediocre, at best, when it comes to game day duties and it seems like we’re always massively underprepared when we get to the big games (Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, BYU).

Obviously, we’re much better than we’ve been, but that was with Travis and Shedeur. Coach Prime has a massive amount of room for improvement and him getting paid more than Saban will never allow him to seek that improvement (IMO).

If he can put up similar records with the Buffs without Travis and Shedeur, he’s definitely worth that money. Otherwise, he’s not.

Most of the issues with this post have been pointed out. I agree that Prime shouldn’t be an NFL head coach. But there are plenty of other college teams that would gladly hire him if we didn’t get a deal done.

Also it’s Rick George. Taking it up the ass in contract negotiations is the standard.

Where to begin?

I find it amusing you accuse others of moving the goalposts. You asked me to name a year when CU was as dominant as they were this year within the last 23, not identify an objectively dominant team. Dominance, in your question, is a relative term. You are familiar with the concept, no? I actually suspect you haven't a clue.

Neither team was dominant, by any objective standard. They are entirely comparable to another however, which is the question you asked and I answered.

The fact remains, CP set the standard at dominance. He isn't there yet. The portal improved the talent level dramatically but has not been able to field a solid OL. 13-12 is not all that great. We will see how much improvement happens post SS2 and THunter. I am thinking CU will continue on its upward trajectory with CP. I think beating a bunch of also rans in the B12 isn't a palate full of "big wins".

Some how the prior paragraph gets your panties in a bunch. The only real difference is you seem to think beating bailer was the rarified heights of CFB glory. I disagree.

Dude, if you were an Ohio State fan you'd be one of those teachers terrorizing the coach's kids in school for not being dominant and losing to Michigan. You will never be happy.
 
2016 season and 2024 seasons were pretty similar.

Both got blown out on the road to mid B1G teams. Both lost a conference road game. Both had a big early season road win that ended up not being as great as it looked at the time. Both ended up tied for 1st but 2016 had tie breakers and made the Champ game because of divisions. Both got blown out in the postseason.

2024 great passing game bad run game
2016 great run game mediocre passing game
Both teams had solid defenses with 2016 Secondary >> 2024 Secondary and 2024 front seven >> 2016 front seven.

You are quite wrong. I am happy with a 9 win season. I think CU can be a real player with nationally with CP at the helm. CU isn't there yet. I can express what I see as areas for improvement whether you approve or not.

Point given, but I think that 2016 front 7 defense was better than 2024. The 2024 team had multiple games where they got completely dominated at the line of scrimmage. There really wasn’t a game in 2016 that happened, other than the pac 12 championships game, but that had more to do with that defense just being completely worn down. I’d take the 2024 ILB’s though

The edge and LB in 2024 team is definitely much better. The 2016 team can not stop the run, like, at all.

I was in the stands for the 2016 game at No. 4 Michigan. CU potentially wins that game if Sefo doesn’t get hurt. After all, CU had the lead before he was injured. Montez came in and failed to complete a single pass for the final quarter and a half.

Montez went on to beat Oregon in Eugene the next week, so that was awesome. The Michigan victory was so close, though.

The '16 front seven had Samson Kafovalu and Josh Tupou. They were excellent against the run.
