Name a coach who has a better coaching tree than Ried. Your gonna say Saban, ain't ya. No one who has coached under Saban has won a NC.Best coach in football? Um ok.

And the Bears probably wouldn’t have hired him as a HC last year either. Being a college coach is an entirely different job and EB was a disaster as a college coach at this program no less.Meh. Tucker was an unmitigated disaster as DC in Chicago. Doesn't mean he didn't learn a lesson.
Great point here. Just read some articles on Mel Tucker and his time with the Bears as DC. Scary part is that their complaints seem to be the same bad defensive problems we saw this year. I think tucker isn’t a defensive genius at all from what I read. He jumped around and no one but us wanted him to head coach. Now Michigan state took him away and perhaps we are actually lucky. Bienemy is a true Buff and would be a massive upgrade from Tucker.
Bingo!Third.
The idea that EB is the same as he was as an offensive cordinator here last time is false. He earned a promotion from Andy Reid.
4th
He was promoted by Reid for a reason and won the Superbowl to prove it. No Andy Reid does not give out cordinator jobs because he likes you. The idea that EB is just promoted to that level and sits on the sideline is silly. I trust Reid above all of you.

Not sure....
recruiting?
Organization Skills?
I tend to think over the long haul at CU EB will be the better recruiter. His ability to go in with his story in LA right now when USC is crumbling is a massive opportunity.
On paper EB is better. I think the hang over 2012 is the only reason we do not take him. Yes I know things were not handled well then. However, I really believe EB learned from that. We are in a totally different place than in 2012. We have a great recruiting class we need to keep, we have awesome facilities now, and USC is falling apart. I really just thing he has grown and learned both from the negative experience from his first go around and from his positive experience in KC under Reid.
I will also say if you don't like EB buckle up.
It is going to happen.
Jimbo Fisher won a NC and coached under Saban smart guy. Has anyone on Reid’s tree won a NC? No because he’s an NFL coach so that’s an odd comparison to make.Name a coach who has a better coaching tree than Ried. Your gonna say Saban, ain't ya. No one who has coached under Saban has won a NC.
I really just know it is going to happen.Meh, that's just a recycling of Klis's tweet, not real news.
You're either going to look pretty good with this -I really just know it is going to happen.
Why not both? You're either going to look pretty good with this -
or like a complete idot.
Unless you have serious inside information (doubtful), smart money is on the second one.
Didn't know about the Jumbo guy. You ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer are ya?Jimbo Fisher won a NC and coached under Saban smart guy. Has anyone on Reid’s tree won a NC? No because he’s an NFL coach so that’s an odd comparison to make.

I follow the Buffs, life is way to fun and short to follow the rest of football. Quick, what do these two lines have in common, | |.You don’t know who Jimbo Fisher is, but I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer? Ok.
No we’re not - one was a decade more recent and had him in a position of greater responsibility for game planning, practice preparations, and organization. The other occurred just 2 years removed from his playing days and only required him to recruit and coach one position.Aren't we focusing too much on EB's term as an OC and not enough as the RBs coach for the 2001-2002 team that won the 2001 Big 12 championship?
You’re making a great case for EB as a RB coach but I’m not sure how his experience coaching Jamal Charles translates to being a college HC.Look at what he done in Kansas City ever since. Just look at JAMAL CHARLES career in Kansas City with EB as his position coach.
Just ask yourself what EB can do with the current CU RBs plus Schad and how that filters down to the rest of the football team. I was on the Chev train yesterday but I think I'm changing trains right now to the EB train.
You only follow the Buffs and you are vocal about a former Buff being the HC - makes perfect sense now.I follow the Buffs, life is way to fun and short to follow the rest of football. Quick, what do these two lines have in common, | |.
Why?It's a message board. Mental masturbation, over analyzing, having strong opinions that come from emotions and/or limited information... that's what we do.
We can talk about EB to death, but the truth here is actually simple.
If he wants the CU job and can come to agreeable terms for RG & LC, the job is his. And that's the way it should be.
Why?
I’m not sure he does tick all the boxes but ok. And I’m not sure he is somehow better positioned to hold a team together that he had nothing to do with assembling than any other coach.Because he ticks almost all the boxes and appears to be a guy who can hold the current team/recruits together.

Maybe you’ve hit on where I diverge from a lot of the people who favor EB for the job - I agree he has a magnetic, fiery personality but I’m not entirely convinced he is a born leader.Honestly, we don't know what RGs boxes are, but a guy given serious consideration to be an NFL HC is someone CU should consider. As for holding the team together, I think we know enough about EB's personality and recruiting skills to know that he would be able to recruit current players to remain. You simply cannot deny he has a magnetic, fiery personality and is a born leader.
