Will he accept 5 to go away Jan 2?
What would you offer?

Make the move now and you might have more a chance at a Tom Herman.....who looked fairly disinterested in AFA-Wyoming last night working that one from the CBSSN studios.Jan 2? It never endsIn Dorrell’s presser, he said that he thought rotating QBs would get them into a rhythm because that’s how they practice.
How f*+%ing stupid can you be? How is a man making 4MM/yr saying stuff like that? This man is an absolute moron
I think they offer him $3.5ish million and cap out at $4.75 million. If they give him full season and they win <2 games, I think he says yes to something in that range. If not, methinks it gets super ugly.agree on process.

I know a couple of morons, and they are pissed at being compared to HCKD. They will get you for this, if they can figure out how to turn a doorknob and get out of their rooms. In Dorrell’s presser, he said that he thought rotating QBs would get them into a rhythm because that’s how they practice.

Except we need RG to go as well. There is no way that he should be allowed to hire the next coach after how bad he botched the KD hire.

Not so sure that is accurate when the TV money disappears.I will say one more thing people won't like.the negatives of a bad CU football team are already baked into all the numbers for CU. Whether that is fundraising, applications and enrollments, ticket sales... CU has been dog **** for most of 18 years - there isn't much that will happen now that makes things worse.
The upside is incredible, but there isn't much left to lose.
I think CU should just fire him and decline to pay him one cent. Say "sue us, let's see what a jury has to say about your breach of contract suit, maybe we get some jury nullification going, maybe the jury thinks you don't deserve squat." Then maybe he comes for a settlement, or maybe we get to drag his ass through court for a few years. And before you say that will cost CU a bunch of attorney fee money, it won't. CU has a staff of talented attorneys working in the General Counsel's office who are already on salary. And if we have to pay his attorney fees, I say it is money well spent, for the sheer pleasure of messing with KD for a few years.
We do not owe any buyouts!I want him fired as much as the next guy... But enrollment numbers are down and the AD is on a death spiral of buyouts. Nothing will happen this season

He's not going to work again. He'll negotiate. Why would he want to wait until after the season to get fired? He is self-aware enough to know he's embarrassing himself each week. He should be relieved to have this misery ended. Let's talk about a soft landing! If they give him the full season, I think they can persuade him to negotiate a smaller number for the good of the program. If they fire him in-season, they ignite the situation and make it difficult to ask for concessions.
See quote above. He is self-aware enough to know he's embarrassing himself each week.
Everyone else expected it."I wasn't expecting that type of performance, given the week we had last week," Dorrell said.
Issue is this: the programs for which the money is no object would not have ever been in the position to hire Karl Dorrell as their HC. A program in 2022 with Karl Dorrell as Head Coach prima facie desperate and financially poor.I think KD:
50% thinks he is a good coach
And the 50% who questions that is too arrogant to admit it. So you have those ridiculous quotes like the one I mentioned above.
So - If money is a factor - KD won't take a reduced buyout until he is embarrassed and doesn't want to continue with the job. Most people would be embarrassed by now. But I don't think he gets it. It might take going 0-7 and really ugly atmospheres at Folsom to get through to a tone-deaf KD. You try to fire him now, he will probably think he is a victim. For most programs, the money wouldn't matter, and KD is fired tomorrow.
Playing the 4-2-5 defense against three teams that run the ball well, and then noticing how little we were subbing the 2 big guys up front was troublesome to say the least, and now we own the worst run defense in the country. If the theory is that the PAC12 teams play a more spread style of play and do not focus on the run is naive because once they watch our film, everyone in the league will run on usKD needs to be fired today. Not tomorrow.
CU can't afford to keep him and the embarrassment that he is.
Nobody will show at Folsom, which is expensive.
This is Embree level bad and this was predictable as they both had zero credentials.
Play McCown now. He already proved to be way better than #1 and #2 and much more likely to be the future.
Chris Wilson is awful and he needs to go with KD.
Pretty stupid, apparently. “Our qb’s are struggling to get into rhythm. Lets only let them pass in 3rd and long.”In Dorrell’s presser, he said that he thought rotating QBs would get them into a rhythm because that’s how they practice.
