First offensive play?

How great would it be if they hit 'em with a flea flicker or Bobo to Fields trick pass?

As much as I want to throw over the top to Shay, it almost has to be a run or a safe throw.

Nah. We save the QB sneak for 3rd and 4.

Webb ran a quarterback sneak on first down in an apparent miscommunication from the sideline.
"They originally had it as third down, so we signaled him quarterback sneak," Colorado head coach Jon Embree said. "Then they gave him the first down and he didn't get the signal what the play was supposed to be."

I forgive you for trying to block that dark history from your mind.

No tricks, they'll think they have to trick us to beat us. Test the edges like Duff and others have said, spread them out a bit, then pound it up the middle some.

It will be a twins formation with PL as the lone back with SM in the pistol or gun. There will be a shift to move either the tight end or the slot receiver, with possibly some motion fakes. This is all to see if they can draw up the safety to create an iso on one of the outside receivers. If they get an iso they will check to the go route on the outside or a deep post route to the area the safety vacated. If the safety stays back the play will be check to a run to the strong side. If the pass play is run, and the safety falls back, PL will check the blitz then fade to the flat and SM will either hit the slot receiver on the drag route or PL in the flat. The tight end will either stay in for pass pro or will run a simple short post to try to clear space for slot receiver.

I've found that launching without the proper amount of pounding can be very discouraging to your partner, um, er opponent.
