Future opening game

I dislike playing Nebraska anywhere, but allowing those inbred polyester clad retards to take over mile high in a game that should be a home game for us is a horrible idea.
Not sure what post you read, but I said play Nebraska in Vegas. We're talking about opening weekend, neutral site games in this thread.

Fusker fans look for any excuse to get out of that hellhole state of theirs. A game in Vegas would be a fusker home game.

Vegas, Denver, wherever. I dont feel the need to validate their existence anywhere, anytime.

Isn't there some outside chance that the upcoming OOC game against TAMU is going to be at Mile High? Or did I dream that up?

I don't have a problem with playing A&M in Denver. We still have two other OOC home games that year, so we're getting six at Folsom anyway. That said, we're a big enough name still to where we can get home and homes at Folsom with most Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 schools.....so I don't have an issue with any series we've set for the next seven years. As far as neutral site games......maybe NU or Oklahoma at the new Raiders stadium?

It's weird to me that the 2 programs outside of CU that are most talked about on this board (Nebraska and CSU) also have a bunch of people who say they don't want to play them.

To me, that's kind of dumb. When there's that much interest, the teams need to play fairly often. Not every season, but probably 2-4 times a decade in order to keep that fan interest alive.

I get that CSU is a bit of a different case due to the G5 status and the future may bring a situation where the Big 12 doesn't expand, the Pac-12 either doesn't expand or looks elsewhere than CSU, and the P4/5 decides not to play G5 opponents. But as things stand now, it makes sense to play CSU: very likely win, draws a lot of media attention and sells a bunch of tickets.

Buffs fans want a rivalry but don't want to play our biggest one ever again... strange

Big fan of tough early season non-conf games (for season prep reasons). Big fan of being the main game in primetime (for recruiting and branding reasons).

I doubt it is up to A$M.

Oh, okay.

"The CU-A&M rivalry will resume on Sept. 19, 2020, at Kyle Field in College Station, with the Aggies to return the game on Sept. 11, 2021, most likely at CU's Folsom Field in Boulder but with a clause in the contract making Sports Authority Field in Denver a possible option."

Now you tell me why CU would bargain a clause into a contract that would take the game out of Folsom Field? What the **** sense would that make? The only reason I could see is if they see the potential for a pay day because it 'could' be a big time game. But the way their own website wrote "most likely at Folsom field" I highly doubt they're pushing to move the game.

Cu negotiated the same thing with the Nebraska game. Just allows them to make more money potentially if it is s big time matchup.

I get that and I hate it. We would absolutely
lose home-field advantage to both Texas and Nebraska all for money. College football isn't big in colorado.

Home and home. Why not play against a TAMU at folsom and at their house? F this neutral site. CU doesn't really have the fan base to have it be anywhere close to neutral at a AT&T type of stadium. How many were there in Atlanta against Tennessee? 20 vs 45k?

Consensus seems to be that if we schedule a home & home with another P5 team that the games should actually be played in our home stadiums. I get that.

However, didn't Florida State do that another way and play us off campus when we went there during the Hawkins era? I don't think it says "small time" if we play in Denver.

Not interested in giving away a home field advantage to a school that travels well. I.e, Nebraska, A&M, UT, Ohio St. that, to me, has "small time" written all over it. Schedule home/home series all you want, but I don't ever want to set foot at Mile High (or any other "neutral" site) again after the CSU contract is up.

If they schedule a game in Denver, the key for me would be to make it a quality P5 match up. As the Buffs continue their rise to consistent relevancy, this could be huge from an exposure standpoint and could shift the national narrative more towards the west with a Buff victory.

We've only played FSU once in the past decade or so right? If so, that game was in Tallahassee at Doak Campbell because I went to it. Last game I recall watching Jeremy Bloom play.

EDIT: I just looked it up and realized there was another match up after that. Damn I'm getting old.

I think it was Orlando or some ****, I'm not sure though.

A neutral site game in Jerry World or Reliant against a SEC team would be great.

I'd value a home-n-home at Baton Rouge or Oxford over a neutral site game af Jerry World or Reliant.

But, yeah, you know your fan base has traveling credentials when you get an invite to play a season opener in an out of state neural NFL venue.

I would like to see a premier matchup held at Mile High that doesn't include CU. I'd definitely check it out
I'd love to see a premier match up at mile high that includes CU against someone such as Clemson, FSU or LSU. I'd walk through all of the parking lot trash, put up with drunks & fight the traffic.
