He didn’t play well. But neither did most of them. KJ had six.Your commentary on my takes is what is stupid.
TDS repeated drove into double, and often triple teams. He had 7 TOs for **** sake.

Oh...so he was being overly aggressive. Sounds like you were right, really uninterested...Your commentary on my takes is what is stupid.

Always been my issue with Tad...his style that he preaches makes basketball very not fun to watch.Watching Buffs men’s basketball has become like CU football was. Not fun watching road games this season. We’re consistently gonna lose. Love Tad Boyle and brighter days ahead. Next years will be a fun year to watch. Some good players to watch as they grow. It’s more fun to watch the CU women since they seem to be in the games they play and more likely to make the NCAAs
Huh?Always been my issue with Tad...his style that he preaches makes basketball very not fun to watch.
He is really coming along. Nice to see him getting more confidentLawson was really great tonight. Major positive.
Future is bright. Just missing one piece.I am so pissed that they blew it on the night Lawson and Ruffin had their coming out parties. Hard to overcome the turnovers and horrid shooting. Furk!!!!
Tadball is not enjoyable to watch.Huh?
Something clicked, and I hope it stays clicked.Lawson was really great tonight. Major positive.
Did you watch his body language all game, especially when he was walking back down court after missing another shot, or just plain turning it over? Looked like he thought the world owed him something, but wasn't paying up.Oh...so he was being overly aggressive. Sounds like you were right, really uninterested...
I saw a guy who was mad and trying to force it to get going. I like guys who get mad when they don't get a callDid you watch his body language all game, especially when he was walking back down court after missing another shot, or just plain turning it over? The most senior starter, sulking and pouting. Great leadership.
Hell, LL had as many assists as TDS.
Not sure on your math. KJ had 7 and Lawson only had 1.Hard to win on the road. Damn near impossible when your best two players turn the ball over 13 times combined.
Tadball is what kept them in the game and made it a 1 pt. game with 2 min. left. I don’t get how it’s not fun to watch a tight bball game down the stretch.Tadball is not enjoyable to watch.
I have an axe to grind with anyone who plays on a team I root for, but refuses to give effort and teamwork. That includes the coaches, the players, the admin, EVERYONE. And if I'm such a ****ty fan with so much hatred for this team, why is this my 8th road game in 2 years, 5th this year?I saw a guy who was mad and trying to force it to get going. I like guys who get mad when they don't get a call
You have a weird axe to grind with TDS. You have a weird axe to grind with this program in general, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I'll stop bagging on you if you give the same negative review of KJ tonight since he deserves it too.
I'll be one of the first in line to give Tad his deserved amount of criticism. I absolutely hate basketball based on defense and rebounding, and we're generally a very boring team to watch.I have an axe to grind with anyone who plays on a team I root for, but refuses to give effort and teamwork. I don't feel that kj had the same issue with effort - but yes, he had a **** game, especially from the TO side (which is usually where he has issues).
Your turn - admit the TDS played one of his worst games this year. Tell me that you agree something in his head turns off when we go on the road.
While your at it, admit that Tad has faults, too. Cause he does.
Well college basketball is about 90% unwatchable...watching a tight game is not enjoyable. Watching a well played, tight game is. This was not a well played game.Tadball is what kept them in the game and made it a 1 pt. game with 2 min. left. I don’t get how it’s not fun to watch a tight bball game down the stretch.
I haven’t seen the final numbers but assuming they had about 70 possessions (which has been pretty consistent for them this year) then they turned the ball over every 3rd possession. That’s not fun to watch. That’s also what college kids do some nights, regardless of who your coach is. The inconsistency of college players is also why defense and rebounding is so important. This really isn’t something that unique to Tad
Sounds more like you just don’t like college basketball. Hell DePaul beat Nova last night. Cam Whitmore a lottery pick this year got beat by a guy coming off the bench for DePaul. The game at this level is topsy turvy but that’s also what makes it so great
His style and the game he teaches is NOT one of his failings- but you keep telling yourself that.I'll be one of the first in line to give Tad his deserved amount of criticism. I absolutely hate basketball based on defense and rebounding, and we're generally a very boring team to watch.
Nothing in his head turns off. That's some cliche stuff and it's silly.
Team is on Tad, as he recruited them. Big errors are the Iveys. But so much promise. Crazy we are still on the bubble despite the bad losses. Need Ruffin to take Nique's spot if he keeps his defense going.Quick Notes form last night FWIW.
- TDS and KJ had off nights (for them), but both played more than well enough for us to win if certain others could have at least given us a net zero performance rather than been anchors. Speaking of those individuals:
- Wright just can't compete at this level. Hell, I don't think he's made a bucket in something like 7 games and his defense is dreadful. Fortunately, I think Tad understands this, but TBH his hands are tied. Wright's minutes have been relegated to giving others a quick blow and hopefully not hurting us too much while he's on the floor. It is what is it is.
- Similarly, I think's become apparent what Hammond's skill level is. He can excel against mid-majors and bottom Pac 12 teams, but struggles mightily against more talented, more athletic opponents. Kountz flashbacks here. This is an issue.
- Clifford. Man...I hate to keep pounding this, but WTAF? Every game seems to be worse than the last. Some of the shots he threw up last night barely drew iron. And his defense keeps regressing as well. He doesn't move his feet and commits stupid lazy fouls. The last two games he's also looked disinterested. Maybe he knows he's on the way out. I don't know...
- Lovering - awesome. Dude is the heart and soul of this team at the moment. Don't even try to come at me. He dictated the offense and the defense last night. At about this point last year he really started putting it together. Hoping it's happening again this year.
- Ruffin. Kid should start. EOS. His development has me giddy. There is no reason he can't get us 8-10 points and 4-5 rebounds a night from now until he leaves Boulder. And now his defense is coming along. That glue piece, plus more!
- LOB and Hadley - Box score doesn't show it, but both of them worked their a$$es off last night doing the dirty work. I have no problem with what they brought.
- I'm having more empathy for Tad of late. This isn't on him. This team is probably giving him nightly heart palpitations.
- Want to win some money? Take CU and the points this weekend. Just watch, we'll play a great game...and still lose by 5.
Nique deserves criticism, but you must’ve watched different games than I did last week. He played his best defense of the season, I thought. I hoped he turned a corner and would embrace his inner Eli, but it was not to be.Quick Notes form last night FWIW.

I think the caveat with the Iveys is that Tad knew he had an all time recruiting class coming in 23 so he needed a couple 1 year players, that limits your options. This was the pre Coach Prime era, meaning the new transfer policy was not in place so finding eligible players was even more difficult.Team is on Tad, as he recruited them. Big errors are the Iveys. But so much promise. Crazy we are still on the bubble despite the bad losses. Need Ruffin to take Nique's spot if he keeps his defense going.
Sorry, but he guarded 4th option players for 2 very bad teams. And wasn't that great doing it.Nique deserves criticism, but you must’ve watched different games than I did last week. He played his best defense of the season, I thought. I hoped he turned a corner and would embrace his inner Eli, but it was not to be.
Yep. That loss was 100% on turnovers. If we'd been bad to normal with ball security, Buffs would have taken 5-10 more shots and reduced USC scoring by forcing some of their transition possessions into much more difficult half court possessions. You aren't winning conference road games turning over the rock 22 times or whatever it was. I'd think they turned a lot of those into points. Might be something to look into.
Agreed. I thought he did a pretty good job on Peterson (both him and TDS). He's one of USC's best players and while he still got his 15 he had to hit some tough fadeaways to get there (and one of them was a shot clock violation - so more like 12 pts).Nique deserves criticism, but you must’ve watched different games than I did last week. I was right on the money ... 70 possessions exactly.Tadball is what kept them in the game and made it a 1 pt. game with 2 min. left. I don’t get how it’s not fun to watch a tight bball game down the stretch.
