Games thread- (RV) MEN'S bball on the road @ Washington (Wed.,1/24, 9:00 PM MT; ESPNU) WSU (Sat., 3:00 PM; Pac 12) & Utah (Sat., 2/3, 3:00 PM; Pac 12)

I love the back cuts, but can you explain to me how you all see the 5-out offense working against the Zone when it is stale with no real motion and Eddie constantly being the High Post instead of the moving in and out? It feels like we face a Zone with intentional matchups emphasized on KJ, TDS, and Cody, and if the touches are increased for Eddie and Hadley, then one of them has to go off. Hadley did and we won.

When Eddie's in, we really run 4-out with him being inside positioning around the key.

Yeah! Bring back 1985! We'll post a C on one block and a PF on the other. SG on the weakside perimeter with SF on the strong side. PG up top directing.

Or we could continue with this season's new 4- or 5-out motion offense that has delivered the nation's #22 O on KenPom.
How is it against the zone? KenPom-wise.

How about changing that up and having him at least flash into the low dunker spot or even disappear in the short corner area to allow for the other 4 to flash in and out as the ball moves. He seems to be a cork in the system

They do that. When you see what you're talking about, they're running a 5-out set (which is basically positionless basketball).

The late season cat and mouse game seems to be getting figured out by our opponents in a very competitive P12 season, and so I am anxious to see how the Utah and especially the Arizona game go. I think we can still explode, but things seem a bit iffy.
KJ is a dog
Hadley is trying is best
Cody can take over any game
Eddie tries really hard, but he is an average center with limited skills and a big heart
TDS just confounds the **** out of me with his skill set and just casual and emotionless demeanor. He could just pour it on if he just put everything on the line
Gotta make the tournament

Wait, we're not running Read & React are we? I haven't been able to watch many full games. I'm guessing no since I don't see immediate pass and cuts. Plus, they often look a bit passive out there, as if they are trying to figure out what to do (good and bad).

THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 15-6 overall and tied for third place in the Pac-12 Conference at 6-4, just one game out of first. The top five teams in the Pac-12 are separated by one game and it's only a two-game spread for the top eight.

Colorado will close out its second three-game conference road swing in the last month with its annual trip to Utah. The Buffaloes are coming off a road split in the Pacific Northwest last week. Colorado snapped a five-game road losing streak with its 98-81 win at Washington on Jan. 24. The Buffaloes weren't able to keep that momentum going though, as Washington State put an end to Colorado's four-game overall winning streak with a 78-69 decision on Jan. 27.

Overall, Colorado is one of the top all-around shooting teams in the country, ranking in the top 10 nationally in all three percentage categories: overall field goal, 3-point and free throws. The Buffaloes are fifth in the nation in free throw percentage (.787) and ninth in both 3-point accuracy (.395) and overall shooting (.500).

Colorado is the only program in the nation's top 10 of all three categories (through games of Feb. 1). Colorado also sports top 50 marks nationally in rebound margin (+7.8, 20th), assists (16.5 apg, 30th), free throws made (16.7 mpg), scoring offense (81.3 ppg, 34th) and scoring margin (+10.1, 45th).
...

ABOUT THE UTES: Utah is 14-7 overall and tied for sixth in the Pac-12 at 5-5. The Utes were swept by the Washington schools on the road last week. Utah is 11-0 at home this season. The Utes average 78.7 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Utah ranks second in the Pac-12 in 3-pointers with 8.9 made per game. Defensively, Utah allows 71.4 points while opponents shoot 42.3 percent. Utah is the second-best rebounding team in the Pac-12, grabbing 39.1 per contest.

Fifth-year senior center Branden Carlson leads Utah at 16.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. Senior guard Gabe Madsen averages 12.6 points and leads the team with 58 3-point field goals. Senior guard Deivon Smith averages 10.8 points and 5.0 assists per game.

SERIES RECORDS: This will be the 60th meeting between Colorado and Utah with the Buffaloes holding a 33-26 series lead. The teams split their season series last season, each winning at home. Utah took a 73-62 decision in Salt Lake City on Feb. 11 with the Buffaloes earning a 69-60 decision on Senior Day, Mar. 4, in Boulder. Overall, Colorado has won six of the last nine meetings. Utah holds an 18-10 series lead in Salt Lake City.

Kind of a bummer that this isn't a home weekend, with the Blazers in town for a weird pair of games at the Nuggets (Fri/Sun) it would have been the perfect opportunity for Jabari and Chauncey to make appearances in Boulder.

The basketball gods are angry and Cody and LOB are out. Sigh.
Tristan needs his best road game of the year. KJ and Eddie have to be great.
The 2 Ds need to show against their 2 - 7 footers.

We have a tough matchup.

Go Buffs.

(Cody got an elbow to his face, Luke turned an ankle)

Good to see we can't make a layup or a pass

**** me why is effort too much to ****ing ask for?

Holy **** who is directing this broadcast? We’ve had 3 or 4 possessions where we aren’t seeing game action while a camera is focused on Tad or Utah’s coach or some other random person. We can’t get out of this stupid conference fast enough.

Meanwhile I have to illegally stream the game because the Pac 12 network isn't on YouTube TV, which is ****ing ridiculous and unacceptable when you consider how popular it is now and the fact that NFL Sunday ticket and NBA league pass (among many others) are on YouTube TV.

I can watch almost every sporting event imaginable except for anything on the ****ing pac 12 network.

When it comes to the Pac 12 Network you've got to really, really want it. You've got to earn that ****. It makes it more meaningful that way.

What’s the story with CW and LOB? Serious? Minor? Why the heck do we have buzzard’s luck so often?

Can someone explain how Ellis and Love are up for the national guard award ahead of KJ and they are both below him on stats and USC sucks.

PAC Sucks

Great pass by Diop. I never want to see the Diop/Lampkin pick and roll again, even if it was the result of a loose ball scramble. Lol.
