Guess the Attendance: Nebraska

Can the attendance just be anyone wearing white, black, gold or silver until there’s no seats left?

Nice, like an “exclusive” night club with a dress code. “You can wear whatever color you want, as long as it isn’t red (anywhere on any article of clothing)” states the sign at each gate. “Your ticket is no good here!” is the response given to those in red.

The “30,000” invading Nubbins are now on the outside looking in, while Buffs fans party on...

More than enough to drown out the red clad bug-eaters scattered around the stadium staring sadly into their empty aluminum beer cups as the Buffs roll.

Interesting point brought up on the 247 board. Since this game was formerly held the day after Thanksgiving, only 4,000 or so students would be in attendance because many would head home for the weekend. This would leave 6,000 or so tickets up for grabs for CU alums or the general public, which the nubs would snatch up. Since that is not the case this year, the 10,000-11,000 CU students will keep thousands of nubs from getting tickets.

Sort of, but a lot of students used to come back for the game until the last couple of years in the big 12

Longtime lurker but I had to comment.
Lengthy but important.

Sorry for the bad news. The stadium will be almost all Nebraska fans. Why? Simple Math.

As we know 100% of Nub fans have their grandmother thrown down stairs at games in Boulder. And we cannot doubt the veracity of Nebraska fan because “he was there and totally saw it happen”

With a population of 1.9M and with current demographics you are looking at over 100,000 women over 75. Assuming a 50% grandmother rate. We are looking at more than 50k grandmothers that need to get thrown down stairs; in short our entire stadium capacity will need to be Nebraska grandmothers. We do need to hold some some seats for CU grandmother throwers.
Assuming that unruly CU fan can throw maybe 4 grandmothers a minute, with breaks and fatigue, you are looking at maybe 500 grandmothers tossed during the game at best. So we need 100 CU fans at minimum. Add some support staff to get grandmother organized and to the steps, I think we need to budget maybe 500 people split between Designated Grandmother Throwers and thrower support staff.
Doesn’t even include seats for NU fan to witness the throwing but maybe we can use webcams or something.

So my call is
52,500 Nebraska Grandmothers
500 CU fans

As an alternative maybe we could borrow airport stairs from DIA or something and setup Temporary Nebraska Grandmother Throwing Stations (TNGTS?) all around the stadium.

Just sayin

This is one of the highest quality posts I've seen in AB. well done.

Many thanks.

On a side note. This is also a reason to not play that often. We would risk exhausting the supply of grandmothers (aka the overfishing equivalent to grandmother throwing). We do need to allow time for the Nebraska Grandmother population to replenish. We need to maintain a sustainable population.

Solid first post, but....

You forgot extra CU fans to chuck piss balloons, give beer showers, and throw nail-filled marshmallows. You're asking an awful lot of those 500 fans to throw that many grannies down the stairs, AND complete those other tasks.

You need to go back and check your math.
