Guess the Attendance: Rocky Mountain Showdown

I actually really hope the Rams fill their half of the stadium this week. Just a much better atmosphere than looking across at empty seats.

It's really satisfying, too, when their section starts full and empties out before the end of the 3rd quarter.

Yea, well let's see how fast it empties out this year compared to last years and also see how quickly the buffs sides empties out. Because, we are going to tear that little buffs butt up this year and I mean good and proper, too.

Took this with 5 minutes to go last year.

Fight on, you stalwart fans!

68,774 at the start of the game, 45,331 at the start of the second half when the CSU fans all leave. Speaking of that, did anyone other than myself notice that about 1/3 of CSU's stadium emptied out at the start of the third quarter against OSU on Saturday? What the hell is up with that? Game was still close at that point, they have a brand new stadium and they are all leaving? That isn't even worthy of a G5 school, let alone a P5.

Temps on the field were around 115. East side of the stadium has 0 shade, the press box isn't tall enough to block them for games in late summer. They ran out of water at the concession stands and the concourses were nuts. Not surprised people decided to peace out before they got heat stroke.

What, did they poach the concession director for Folsom away from us?

Opening day glitches. They happen at every new stadium. Besides, not like the concession crew up in Ft. Fun is used to dealing with that many people. Most games are around 20k.

The east side at Folsom sucks in early season afternoon games. But it makes up for it when the temps drop in October and November. The 12:00 kickoffs in our first two at Folsom will, likely, be hotter than hell.

Ya, but the concourse is easily accessible and big enough for folks to get a break from the heat. Plus there is Balch which is open to everyone.

I'll say 73K. Based on the resurgence of CU's program, the fact that CSU sold at least 3K more in season tix compared to last year, and CSU didn't lose their first game, so that's definitely going to result in a boost from last year.

A gorgeous 72 degree day feels like a sweltering 95 when there's no cloud cover or breeze
