The bad news from ACC land is Duke, Georgia Tech, NCSU, and BC are all varying degrees of ****.

-VT fans will outnumber Duke fans in their own stadium. If UVA can beat Duke by 2 TD's there, VT can.
-GT has been limping past garbage all year and gets their doors blown off by anyone with a pulse.
-NCSU has been **** outside of the Clemson game to the point that Doeren may lose his job. They've historically played FSU tougher than anyone in the ACC (aside from Clemson's recent rise) though.
-BC simply doesn't have the offense to beat Louisville, even if the Cards are feeling the pressure.

Now watch me be wrong on some of these (hopefully)

I hope you're right but Duke's had Tech's number in recent years. Tech's on a roll though and Duke is due for a win. Duke won at Notre Dame earlier this year.

And VT isn't part of any playoff conversation. There are no reasonable Hokie fans who believe we have a shot after shjtting the bed at Syracuse.

In that scenario, we need to root hard against Louisville & aTm.
Absolutely. One downside I've found is the limited number of simulations. For example, the engine doesn't have any results for Michigan and Colorado winning out with the automated teller machines losing this weekend.

At this point all I can tell is if we continue to take care of business things will only get more interesting.

The CFP rankings have less inertia than the polls, though. We might not move up just because teams in front of us lose. Might mean other teams move up.

Are you think losses by Penn State, Nub and LSU would do it?
That plus I think either Wisky/Florida could be upset. Maybe even Auburn if Vandy does it's usual thing of keeping things close. Also I really don't understand why Oklahoma is ahead of us in the eyes of the committee and maybe barely escaping ISU changes that.

Utah doesn't play, Baylor plays TCU, Okie Lite plays K-state, VT plays Duke, WVU plays Kansas, UNC plays GT, WSU plays Arizona etc. Don't see any of those games causing those teams to jump us.

We need LSU to beat A&M. Louisville has nobody left to play. If we win the conference, we'll have wins over 5, 16, and 25 in this weeks CFP in three consecutive weeks. I think there is a certain "what have you done for me lately?" to this, and that's going to be hard to top IMO.

I think the OOC is what has us behind OU. They played the toughest in the country (Houston and Ohio State). Yeah, we went to the Big House and played well, but also played a cupcake and a G5 that MIGHT be bowl eligible. I can't argue it for right now, especially given how sloppy we were last night.

I get that and commend OU for its scheduling. That was big boy scheduling. Nothing but respect on that side of the coin.

My issue with OU is that they were dominated late by Houston and weren't even competitive at home against Ohio State.

I get that, but I think the Pac 12s two best (UW and us record wise) have the meat of our schedules left. The puppies still play USC, Wazzu, and will have a date with hopefully us in the CCG. Whoever wins this conference is going to leapfrog teams just on that alone. Wouldn't shock me if we did leapfrog OU, though-Iowa State is one of the worst teams in the Power 5. UCLA has a ton of talent, and that win is being used as an argument for Aggie over Washington by many. Since we have one of those now, don't we get to leapfrog a team with a similar record?
