Houston beat Stephen F Austin (0-2) in week one; a program that was 7-5 in the FCS last year and Rice (1-1) in week two; a program that was 4-8 in AAC last year.

CU lost to a GT team that will compete for the ACC Championship by 7 and covered a 23.5 point spread against a Delaware team that has won 8, 9 an 9 games the past three years in FCS.

I am super, super interested in the Clemson @ GT game this weekend.

I suspect we all are. Must see TV.

Not hyperbole to say our season is already on the line with this game.
the staff put itself in a really tough spot with 3 qbs. putting aside all our questions around how they previously selected the starters and putting aside the play calling they used for each guy, they pretty much had to go this way at this point.

absent injury to one of the others, I would think salter is done and won't see snaps with the 1s in practice. juju keeps getting reps here and there and we go forward.

LETS ****ING GO.

It’s the right call. He actually looked downfield and had the offense humming. The only issue I see is hopefully Salter doesn’t cause a fracture in the locker room

Staub will do fine. He'll manage the game and make some plays we haven't been able to yet. But if people think he's going to go out and win this game himself, you haven't been paying attention to who he is and what his talent level is. We're going to have to have a balanced attack and control the TOP. And that means running the ball. It also means the offensive staff needed to start installing a different gameplan last Sunday morning. We can't just take what they were giving Salter and hand it to Staub. I'm not holding my breath.

How do you whiff your evaluations to arrive at this situation
1) Prime wanted to make a "splash" with SS2's replacement but didn't quite have enough funds to grab a top P5 transfer target.
2) Someone got in his ear and told him that "I have some ideas for what we can do with this kid." That person was wrong. And inept.
3) No one thoroughly vetted the choice with his previous coaches.

And thus, here we are.

You can't play Salter at this point. That ship has sailed. Someone on the staff needs to take a stand for fvcksake.
Sure you can, but it's a very specific, dialed in playbook that is centered around read option, RPO and quick passing game. He still brings an element to the offense that neither Juju or Staub bring and they can still use that to help the offense, but it has to be deliberate, focused and called well. The execution of all that is where I'm not very confident, but I don't think the ship has sailed for Salter.

Again, I'll say how much I hate this. Just nut up and pick a direction. Choose a QB. Pick a personality/philosophy. Rally the team behind it. Put it in place and stop messing around. Christ.

The team has rallied. That was clear on Saturday, and even more clear when the videos came out showing the sideline response to Staub. This may have forced the change. It's gonna take Staub stinkin it up to lose the job if that's the case.

Why? It's not that uncommon to play two QBs with two different skill sets. Buffs have seen it first hand over the years, including multiple teams last year. If Staub just balls out to start the game and leads the Buffs to 2-3 straight scoring drives, then just stick with him, but I don't see that as likely.

And honestly, Salter was moving the ball and was 2/2 in scoring on his drives (late game **** doesn't really count, IMO, as it was stupid to reinsert him after not playing for 2+ hours), so as far as we know, had they stuck with him instead of putting in Juju maybe Salter would have lead CU to two more scoring drives instead of two punts.

I do think the Delaware corner sitting on the hitch on Staub's first TD pass speaks volumes about what they thought about our offense in pre-game planning - and it isn't great for us with Salter.

1) tried to replicate Shedeur wtih Salter. He's not Shedeur. Not even close.
2) Juju isn't ready. He's 17...and he's short. Worried he can't see over the O line. Maybe get some platform cleats for him
3) Staub is ready. He's the only one who has been around the program for more than a few months and he's been learning. Ready to play.

I believe Staub is shorter than Juju...but yes, he's young
