JK did a bit on the QB situation, saying Staub had to start, and saying how when a guy was 3rd string, under-recruited he had to take his opportunity. I checked: JK was headed to N Colorado, but walked on here. All Big 12 before he got a scholarship. Like most of us, he really wants Staub to do great.

That description fits Bobby Pesavento too ... bided his time on the bench without complaint, and when Craig Ochs went down he made the most of his opportunity and took us to an overwhelming win over the Nubbs and then Texas in the CCG. Still one of my favorite CU QBs.
