You could make an argument for Oregon, Stanford or SC since they all beat each other, but only Oregon is in the game, so only Oregon (if they win) should be in the conversation.
If we had a playoff, I would support inviting maybe 2-4 teams that didn't win their conference, much like Wild Cards. Until then, I will not waver.

Okay, let's say that Oregon does lose to UCLA, does that make UCLA the best team in the conference? Even better than Stanford?
Since opinions are like assholes and everybody has one, and on this board everybody is one, and by virtue of my superior intellect and inability to be wrong, I'll simplify this whole Charlie Fox by having Colorado crowned National Champions by virtue of Colorado having beat Arizona, who beat ASU who beat USC who would beat LSU. Can somebody notify the White House for the football team's invitation please?
As I've already said, UCLA shouldn't be in the game. It should be SC. UCLA is there only on a technicality.

Nope, I would take the 2 highest ranked conference champs. Not having to play in a CCG (Stanford, Bama) is a huge advantage in a situation like this. Would Bama beat Georgia? Who knows, but they don't have to prove it. They are an S-EEEEE-C team, so according to Chucky they are a formidable opponent.

I don't give a **** what conference they are in. I want to see the top 2 teams in the country play. Untill there is a playoff that should be the top 2 ranked teams. This year the choice is extraordinarily easy since the polls are unanimous by a large margin.
So please explain OSU over Bama, assuming OSU beats OU this weekend.
Not every conference is created equal. Just because you're a conference winner, that does not make you the second best team in the nation.
Oklahoma State lost to a mediocre team that they should've blown out. Probably won't be a conference champion given their history versus OU. They'll find a way to screw up against their big brothers from Norman.
Stanford was crushed by Oregon. Can't win their conference.
Virginia Tech was hammered by Clemson. They get to play a rematch, which they'll likely lose again.
Houston plays the little sisters of the little sisters of the poor. They'll likely be conference champions! They're clearly better than all of the above teams AND Alabama since they're undefeated with their best wins against fUCLA and SMU. :rofl:
The BCS Championship game is designed to pit the best two teams in the country against one another. To do anything else would mean that the game is no longer doing what it's designed to do.

Unless you use some sort of objective measure (like winning the conference), your argument of who is best is 100% subjective.

OSU has more quality wins then bama, but a worse loss. They've also had a harder schedule. Given that Bama had their shot at LSU and blew it, OSU should get the nod.
I think you nailed it here. As long as we do not have a playoff, I would prefer not to see a rematch in the title game. Ever. Regardless of circumstances. The bowl system is not about finding a national champion, it's about creating interesting match ups between teams that don't always play each other. It's about the champion of the Big 8 going to Miami and playing someone from the east coast, or the SEC champ playing the SWC champ in the Sugar Bowl.
The entire argument with the BCS has always been "the regular season is already a playoff." That's not the case if we're having rematches in the championship game. And that's why voters have already avoided rematches twice with end of season voting.

I think rankings are less objective than winning a conference. Base it on winning a conference then you have to rate the conferencse to see who is most deserving.
This season, sounds like you should be arguing for OSU.

You're already doing that by pimping for Bama. How could you possibly say Bama would be more deserving than Okie Light (so long as they win Saturday)?
And Bama lost AT HOME to LSU already. Sit down and be quiet, little boy.
