Jabari Walker Beast Mode Appreciation Thread

He was the only guy stroking his shot, the others were rushing and either air balling or bricking it up.
Just felt like he was being asked to just stand around, instead of mixing up his skills.
Hopefully, each game gets more confidence
That's what his offensive role will be in the NBA. Stand around the 3 point arc. He's not a guy who can create his own shot.

Just perused the Blazers roster. Man, there is a ton of dead weight on there. Wow.

What a great young man. Can we all say a prayer that Tad stays here forever? As much as people bitch and moan sometimes, the CU basketball program is solid af and will only keep getting better. Just look at the representation we have in the league right now. That means something as the program continues to build toward the next level.

And the young men coming out of Tad's program come across as quality people as well, the kind of people you want living in your neighborhood.

I kind of view Tad as Colorado's version of what Bo Ryan was for Wisconsin. Completely built the program up. Hard nosed basketball, building up 4 year players that buy in, play defense. Offense needs a good point guard but is more methodical. Now Bo had a lot more support and money for the Athletic Department. Got gorgeous arena, facilities, AD's that help build up the student fan base (all thing Tad can dream of). Once Bo got that Elite recruit in Sam Dekker simultaneously to the developmental big Bo was known for in Frank Kaminsky the program got to the Chip and final 4 in his last two full seasons. Hope Tad has a similar ending!

Imagine if Tad even had just a few more resources...o_O

From Hollinger's Summer League recap (The Athletic):

Jabari Walker, Portland: The 57th pick in the draft built on a strong combine showing with one of the most productive summer leagues of any rookie, helping the Blazers win the summer title and earning a full roster contract. The 6-9 power forward from Colorado made six of his 14 3-point attempts but sparkled on the glass with a 21.1 rebound rate. His 30.9 PER was nearly the best of all rookies with only his former Pac-12 rival Mathurin outpointing him.

Straight up walked the walk.

Jabari is an elite rebounder. It was noticeable the moment he first stepped on the floor in Boulder. If he can shoot the 3 in the high 30s consistently, which as we all know is very reasonable, he can have a long lucrative career with those 2 skills alone.

And unlike many of the guys who were college stars he is a willing and capable defender. Still has some things to work on but guys who can play a versatile game on both ends of the floor tend to stick around in the league.

OK, should he not have stayed if this is his contract?
If he came back, dominated the PAC12 season, was named All PAC12 again, and was drafted let's say #10 next year, he would have the same guaranteed contract in year 1, and then he would have over $20 million by his 4th year.

Next year's draft is going to be super deep. He wouldn't go 10th.

Can you just shut the f uck up about this?

No. I'm not aware of any evidence or precedent to suggest he would have moved from #57 to #10.

WTF is your problem, I am actually just asking a math question related to how he was not able to convince teams to draft him higher despite his ability.
Honestly, he should have transferred to Duke or somewhere, and maybe he does go 10th
We all love Buffs MBB, but Jabari was slept on and while he can earn it back, it is too bad that Benedict Cumberbatch Matherin has a fat contract cause he was from Arizona (blue blood)
