LOL the (now) 17 pages got here with a lot of "stupid thread" posts.Nope - not handwringing - trying to help those that are see the light, but I'm done.
Anyone who says no way, no how is just delusional in the current sports climate. He's another bad season or two away from getting canned potentially at CU. There's little patience. Let's not forget also, like Pat Haden, Rick George didn't hire Mac, so it's a lot easier for him to do it than it would've been for Bohn.To be honest when I first read the OP I thought it was a very unrealistic almost paranoid post. But to be honest the more I thought about it the more I realized there is some kind of risk that is worth considering. Those who see it as 100% implausible I think are being too extremist on the other side of the argument.
His sick dad, whom he is very close to, lives miles away from the Vandy campus. That he also went there for a few years and his dad coached there could be a very small influence. That he would probably get paid a lot more could also be a factor. But in the end, to me, it comes to how much would he rate the importance of being close to his dad and does that outweigh other factors that would drive him to stay at CU.
Also, the question is whether Vandy would be legitimately interested in him. I suspect he is not in the top 3 but even schools like TX had to go below that to get a coach. Vandy offers a lot less than TX does as far as salary, prestige, access to top tier recruits, opportunity to compete for conference and national championships, etc.
Those of you who say there is 0% honestly believe HCMM might not be a top 5 candidate for the job or don't believe that he cares enough about his dad or an extra million or so, to consider a Vandy offer if it were to come?
If I were a betting man, I'd put the odds at 10% he gets and takes an offer. Not sure where some of you come to 0%.

It might not be 10%, but it certainly isn't 0.Oh ****, not the dreaded 10% chance.
Per twitter, Mac to Vandy. It's done.

So we go 2-10 next year, there's chance he's going anywhere? Our choices are already severely limited by the fact, we aren't $4 million a year to anyone. I don't think we're as limited as you think we are, there's only so many FBS programs. Sure we may not get the next Chad Morris. I don't think Rick George is going to be fired, but I don't think too many thought Embree would last only two years. And after only two years, wouldn't be the "Pat Haden plan." It would have to last longer.Rick George has to show that he is patient at the same time. Firing another coach after a couple years would severely limit our choices in the event we did need to find a head coach. I also think we have to wait until the facilities plan is finished to be able to completely judge coach Mac
There is a remote chance that MacIntyre may take the Vandy job. It is more than a 0% chance and less than a 15% chance. You just can't rule it out guys. I mean you just never know.

Dooooooooom!
As most of you know, any competent (or incompetent) AD has a short-list of candidates in the event this happens. Even though some in here think there's "zero chance," I guarantee you Rick George doesn't think that and is prepared in case it happens.
I don't tell you what you can('t) post, stop preaching to me. Bite your damn tongue if you don't like what I say or skip over it.Can you live in your hypothetical world without posting in this thread?
I got no idea honestly but that's why I'm not AD. Derek Mason pops up on a lot of lists so just those Pac-12 ties would probably have him on it, also Justin Wilcox. If it looked like they absolutely couldn't get anyone for this coming year, maybe someone like Ed Orgeron signing a one-year deal similar to what John L. Smith did. I'd have said Jim Caldwell before he took the Lions job. And yeah, I know I'm going to get crushed for this again, but Kubiak. Can you give me a list of the leading candidates? I'm getting worried.
