When Tad Boyle was hired, there were several players who wanted (Dunlap?) hired instead. One of those players was a kid named Alec Burks. Maybe some of you have heard of him. Boyle said the first thing he had to do was recruit the players (namely, Burks) that were already on the team. Point being, this **** happens all the time, and if the new guy - whoever that may be - is worth much, he will make it his priority to recruit the players that are already on the team. RG needs to hire the best coach he can and not be concerned about who the current players want.

A coach doesn’t leave a week after NSD and publicly committing to staying all the time.

But no matter who the new coach is they always has to re-recruit the signees and players.

The point some of us have been making is that that job will be more difficult if you come in and fire everyone.

He wants to coach here-so I'd have zero doubt about him coming here and lying his ass off for 14 months like Mel Tucker did. I also think he'd be hungrier here than he was in Westwood. He's also a bit of a splashy hire. I haven't seen anything outside of our musing about Sark that would connect him to this gig, but I'd love him here. Concerned about him relapsing, but not so much leaving for another gig. If he's willing to entertain and commit to Mississippi State, I'd be the same would be said for us.

As far as Kap or any other assistant going to East Lansing-I'm not chalking them up as gone until I see one of our beat people (Adam, Brian, Chase, Shap, etc) confirm it given how Mel left here. I'd be pretty shocked if a lot of people from here follow him to MSU-what's to say he's not going to jump at Auburn (for example) if that opens next year?

I only said most because I wasn’t sure about the transfers and didn’t want to look it up and also didn’t want to be attacked by the message board pedants desperate to prove they’re a “smartboi” if my assumption was wrong but that’s obviously unavoidable.

By the way, the only people who post on fan forums are “fanbois” and obnoxious trolls with no life. So that’s not actually an insult. I’d definitely prefer being the former to the latter...

Adam decided to compile stuff through last night into a single timeline thread. He figured that not all of his subscribers wanted to be constantly hunting and searching a bunch of different threads to get the basic headlines & updates. Nothing new in that thread.

Been watching the turn of events at CU. Kind of a ****ty hand MT delt out.

What about Josh Heupel? He seems to win games at Central Florida. Recruits pretty good too and has connections.

Rick Neuheisel, it was found out he was resigning to take the job at UW the night of the biggest recruiting dinner of the year. They had decided to have one big weekend for all the recruits -several 4 star players there at the Saturday night dinner waiting and Rick is boarding a private plane to Seattle. All the recruits thought it was a surreal experience.

I'm talking myself into the narrative that no matter how uninspiring the hire will seem, it will work out beyond our expectations. The Herm situation in Tempe is my template. That hire was lambasted from the go, but it has been far less disappointing than I would wish for those heat loving assholes.

We deserve some mother****ing karmic retribution.

Agree, if that happens the Buffs are ******. I'm sure he would bring his whole staff and there would be a mass exodus. I'd throw Hagan, Chiv, or even Embo in first (roll the dice), even to just see how the coming season progresses.

I know a bunch of this site are critical as Summers, as a DC, but the defense was playing bettter and more inspired toward the end season, which in part led to some good signings. With improvement at certain positions, I still see some growth opportunity. Same with the offense, I think the kids are excited for change. I'm sort of let things roll.
