Les Miles Watch 2015

I did not look it up, was more confused about calling him an OC. Has he ever been an OC? Thought he was a career OL coach.

He was OC for Simmons at Okie Lite for a couple years.

(Yes, I looked it up. Is it against board policy now to take 2 minutes to find facts instead of quickly posting from memory?)

fact checking is frowned upon around here. Please just wing it from now on and hopefully expose yourself to being immensely wrong.

Knock it off, Luke. You sound like a spoiled brat at the grocery store whose mommy won't let him have some candy.

If Skidmark could even photoshop Miles grazing on Farrand Beach to tease us more?

I met Coach Miles at CU on my recriuting trip in December of 1987. Rick George was Mac's recuiting coordinator then. Les left for Illini with Lou Tepper in the spring of 1988 to work for John Mackovick.

Did you have to look that up or are you going off memory?

Knock what off? I didn't threaten him or anything. I'm sorry he doesn't know more about the game than me. Sorry FLA, I got them mixed up man, I was like 6 or 7.

I stand corrected. Helluva resume.

Did you have to look that [\QUOTE]

I had to look up who they went to work for, I remember Lou Tepper and Les Miles from the recruiting trip. I thought Tepper was hired as Head Coach then, but he wasn't promoted until Mackovic left for Texas.

Do we know the details of Miles buyout? I believe most are set up to pay annual salary, but subtract out any earnings from any other coaching job. It's part of the reason the broadcast gig is so popular cause it doesn't count against the payout. I don't think CU could come close to matching his current salary, so if he came here he would get paid his CU salary, and then LSU would make the difference. The only way a coach does this is if he wants to screw his former school ( a la Bo Pelini working for dirt cheap at Youngstown St so ****aska still has to pay him +$2 million a year).

Does Les feel this way, and would CU be the lucky beneficiary?

I can't believe this is getting legs.

If you're RG, you HAVE to at least see if Miles has an interest, right? Even if you are reasonably pleased with MM, you don't get a chance to get a guy like Les Miles every day. You have to see where it takes you, right? RIGHT!?!?

Miles is exactly what we need. A big name to get a huge jump in recruiting. I'm thinking we might get a top 20 class with him in there...IDK but gotta be better than what we have now.
