I have issues focusing on a game when I don't have the commentary on. They offer stadium sound only for some games here and my mind constantly wanders off when I have it on.

It sounds like you think he takes himself seriously. I think not. He knows he's full of crap a lot of the time, but he's having fun and it's part of his persona. He does get carried away at times, but I usually enjoy him.
