Meanwhile, Cal loses 7th straight and will NOT go to a bowl game......

Almost lost amid our exuberance is this item, which we'd have partied about like wildmen, had we not been so busy celebrating CU's season.

Another piece to the storybook ending here. Sefo having a season for the ages, as the brave warrior, it's all about the team attitude as he lowers his shoulder and drags a LB into the end zone.

The rent-a-QB achieving what he set out for..... personal acclaim.

The differences are

It's worked out for both sides. Webb got his chance to show off his skills in a very QB friendly offense, we learned to appreciate what we have in Sefo and found out that Montez is very capable of playing at that level.

I don't harbor Davis Webb any ill will. Not anymore. He did us a favor, even if it didn't feel like it at the time.
Sonny Dykes on the other hand

Don't care - still happy.

The biggest differnce I've seen between Webb and Sefo this year watching their games is that Webb will throw it away as soon as he thinks he's going to get hit. He's not taking the shots that may win a game where, as for Sefo, he'd give up his kidney to win a game. It worked out so much better for us that he didn't come here. He just should have been honest with the coaches is my biggest beef with him. He is, and always was, a mercenary for the year.
Now we know what we have with Montez as well, just an added bonus.

We'll be talking about Sefo and this team decades from now.

Think of this - here are the possible final records for the Buffs:
9-4
10-3
10-4
11-3
12-2
12-3
13-2

It's a beautiful thing. Everything from here on out will be icing on the cake. But I love icing!

Another way to look at this from worst to best:

- Lose some bowl game as a favorite (Cotton, Holiday, Alamo, Foster Farm)
- Lose some bowl game as an underdog
- Lose the Rose Bowl as a Conf runner up
- Lose the Rose Bowl as a Conf champ
- Win the Rose Bowl as a Conf runner up.
- Win the Rose Bowl as a Conf Champ
- Lose a college playoff as Conf Champ
- Lose the Nat'l Championship after winning a CFB playoff game and Conf championship
- Win the National Championship.

BTW, the Air Raid sucks.
Absolutely. And for those not paying attention, Iowa State boat raced them 66-10 yesterday. Yes. You read that correctly.

A lot of people questioned Chev's career choice to join HCMM in year 4 when he was allegedly on a warm seat. But he made a good choice! And yes, TTU was going to suck even if Chev stayed. He coaches offense.

They are 2-6 in conference and giving up 68, 45, 44, 48, 66, 45, 45, and 66 this year. And they couldn't even beat the ASU scumdevils, losing 68-55 in OT.

Air Raid seems to always mean bad defense but WSU is showing that's not completely true and I suppose, we are taking it to another level. I was impressed with WSU's defense until the 4th quarter. Their DC, the Grinch, will be a hot commodity this off-season for a move up. But I think the real jewel is their DL coach, Salave'a, who is tightly connected to the islands. Their DL is good also.

Webb probably has more skills than Sefo, but he isn't our leader. He'd be nothing but a hired gun, rather than the heart and soul of the Rise.

If he would have come here and Sefo been healthy, we may not be where we are today. It all worked out, with karma. Still, he's a little bitch so I'm glad he won't go bowling. And Sonny will enter 2017 with a QB problem yet again. He sucks, just like TTU sucks and RichRod sucks.

I can't point you to any specific posts but I have definitely seen that sentiment on the Berkeley boards (bearinsider)

Yeah. A number of them even thought so at the time the hire was made. Cal, with its new stadium expenses and need to sell those seat licenses, decided they needed to hire the offensive coach instead of the defensive coach. Oops.

Given how things have turned out, this is my biggest (remaining) beef with Davis Webb:
