Men's basketball general off-seasons news thread

If UCLA, Zona, and Oregon are Top 20 programs year in and year out. Really, Arizona is the last piece of that puzzle. Colorado's path to an at large big as the 4-6 best pac-12 program get's so much easier. Especially, if we can sneak a home upset or two against those programs in conference play.
The PAC12 needs to move past the balance it has had the past few years and have at least a couple of truly dominant programs with records that put them in the top 10 or 15 across a season.

Zona and Oregon are in a position with name recognition to help the conference but we really need UCLA to be a final four contender, a one or two seed. They are the only PAC school with blue blood recognition.

This is similar to how the whole conference is in much better shape if USC highly ranked and beating Notre Dame. It raises the image of the whole league.

We also need Arizona to be great.

UCLA-Zona should be a prime time ESPN broadcast that gets hyped as much as any game that's not UNC-Duke.

Utah isn’t a brand. The other three are. We need the other three to be good.

Oregon has been decent the last decade or so but let's not elevate them to a place they don't belong.

Zona has been good since what, the '80's? They're not a blue blue blood but they're definitely recognized, nation-wide. They can wear a target on their back.

Fucla is the prize. Full stop. They've got the pedigree, attention, and brand. Make them the yearly target and go from there.

I disagree that Oregon is a brand in hoops. Sure, they get a bit more attention due to football and Uncle Phil's money, but I don't think they have much in the way of a national following or interest in their basketball program. Of course, UCLA and Zona are brands, but I'd like to see the Zona brand go the way of Nub football.

Oregon can be a brand when they repaint their stupid court.

I like the trees idea, but the way it's done with the shading just makes it look like it was all painted the darkest shade and the middle of the court is just worn out.

Daylen Jountz at UNC Greeley. Holy cow, his numbers. Just a bigger fish in a small pond now, or just more compatible coaching at UNC for his personality/style, or what?

Good for him, but he's playing in a conference that's basically a basketball wasteland. Plus, he's shooting the ball waaaay more than anyone else on that team.
