Nick Fisher is the Pac-12 DPOW

Defensive: Nick Fisher, So., DB, Colorado
In Colorado's 38-24 win over No. 20 Washington State, he was called upon after losing two free safeties ahead of him on the depth chart (one to ejection, the other to a concussion), he stepped in and made six tackles (all solo), with a pass broken up.
• After only playing 39 snaps previously, Fisher played 67 while having had three third down stops and a fourth down stop, the latter at CU's 15-yard line. when Washington State was driving trying to score a go-ahead touchdown when trailing 28-24 with 13:17 left in the game.

Definitely in the running, although, I have to put Spoon's INT against Oregon at #1. IMO, winning that game was the catalyst for this incredible run.

And, had we won the game, Field's long touchdown catch against Michigan. One more week and we could have a poll!

Surprising. They picked on him pretty successfully early on. That said, the 4th down play where he left his man to make the stop late in the game was HUGE. He was all alone out there and had to make a snap decision to leave his guy uncovered deep (surefire TD) to go make the tackle. Incredible play. I rewatched it in awe. Big big turning point.

Well done. Snow is correct, he got picked on early but got better as the game went along. He and oliver were huge in this game.

I didn't realize what an absolutely GREAT play that was until I saw the replay. One guy on two receivers. One going to the end zone. Let him go and it's a touchdown. The other peeling out of the backfield, don't cover him and it's a first down. He stayed on the guy going down the sideline enough that Falk didn't feel like taking the risk. Instead he went for the "sure thing:" The first down. No way the D back could beat the receiver to the line to gain. But damned if the kid didn't leave just enough ground to make up and damned if he didn't react instantaneously to the throw and make the sure solo tackle a yard shy of the first down. A helluva play!

Watching the game with my son ,8 yrs. old, and Fisher makes a good play. I say "who the hell is that Fisher kid" The boy says "he's in for the guy who got the boot". Then that 4th down clutch play happens and my son says "bet you won't forget who Nick Fisher is anymore"
I was impressed with his play ,and his future buff playing days are something I'm anticipating greatly.
